Digital SLR Recommendations?

Guartho, I'd love to see your clinical test real. Good job with the footage there, too!

And Lindley, love the air show photos you share. Do you live near an air base, or something, you always seem to have a lot of them!

Really? I think this is the first time I've posted air show photos....

I'm about an hour from Andrews, though, where this lot were taken.

Maybe you were thinking Gaseous Anomaly - he posts a lot of shots of planes.

Anyway, I have a Nikon D300 with a 30/1.4 and 85/1.8. I have little understanding of f-stops and apertures and, well, most of the technical ins and outs - but I've managed to take some descent shots, and have been figuring things out along the way.

Well, you asked for it. Since I embedded it, here's the disclaimer I put with it on youtube:

This is the same shot of the same row of tomb stones over and over again with different lenses and some knob babbling to himself about what the lens and camera settings are for 10 minutes straight. You should only watch this if you're really really interested in the Canon T2i and boring numbers.

And if you're really interested, it goes all the way up to 720p.
