"Digital Copy" Problems?

In the UK, we didn't get digital copies of Star Trek, but we did with X-Men Wolverine and First Class. There's a microscopic disclaimer on the box, saying the feature may be discontinued whenever they choose:(

well, last time i looked Yorkshire was still in the UK, and it came bundled as a 3 disc blu-ray set. surely if thats the case they can get done for misselling

forgot to say thanks for the reply though, just spiiting the dummy out atthe moment:mad:
in fact, the disc is still for sale on Paramounts website too

Ah, I only got the DVD, not Bluray. I think the US version of the two-disc DVD came with a digital copy. That's what I was thinking of.

That's the version I have. Checking the package now.

Edit:

Included in the fine print on an insert to the DVD package I find the following text:
The enclosed code that permits "authorization" (i.e., transfer of digital copy from DVD-ROM to your computer) is not valid after November 17, 2010. Authorization is not possible outside of the U.S. No refunds if authorization is unsuccessful or unavailable.
(the text emphasis is theirs)

I'll assume that there's comparable language which accompanies the sets produced for sale in the UK.

I have the same issue... I bought the 2 disc special edition when it first came out. At the time, I didn't have a need for the digital copy, but I just got a smartphone and wanted to transfer the movie over. I was quite annoyed at the fact that a movie I purchased does not allow me to access content on the disc. I read the fine print and that's what annoyed me. I guess this means that I'll never be able to use the digital copy that was included with my purchase. :brickwall:

So last night I decided to email Paramount and ask if they could issue me a new digital code, since my old one expired before I could redeem it. What's the worse that can happen - they say no? This morning I had received an email from them with a new code. That is some fast turnaround !! Hopefully it will work when I try to use it tonight.
