Digital comics are they worth it ? disscussion and comments:

I know I asked about this already, but I can't remember which thread it was in so I'm gonna ask here.
I've decided to start my Marvel reading with some Avengers stuff, and I was wondering could I jump right into New Avengers, or would it be better to read the Avengers Disassembled stuff first?

It deppends on how far back you want to go. My self I would start with the disassembled material and go into the cival war. also most of the graphic's are the nook color. I hope they get around to doing the marvel master works.

I'm going the Comixology route. The only part of Disassembled I couldn't find on there are the Spectacular Spider-Man, and Captain America (solo) arcs.

I actually just found one, and it turns out they're missing more than I thought on Comixology.
Have:
Avengers 500-503
Captain America & The Falcon 5-7
Iron Man 84-85 and 86-89 (84 and 85 are a AD prologue and 86-89 deal with it's aftermath)
Don't Have:
Avengers Finale
Captain America 29-32
Fantastic Four 517-519
Spectacular Spider-Man 15-20
Excaliber 8
Thor 80-81 and 82-85 (80 and 81 are a prologue and the others are a parallel story)

Oh, thanks.
EDIT: Ok, just found the posts I was looking for, thanks again.

okay next week coming out from Idw:

TRANSFORMERS ROBOTS IN DISGUISE ongoing #1

and Infestation 2 #1 (of 2)

Dynamite Entertainment to launch FLASH GORDON spin-off MERCILESS: THE RISE OF MING prelude series to flash gordon zeitgeist.

I think I stoped shortly before house of M and jean's death but I don't know the name of that story arc so I am staring with:

  • House of M
  • Decimation
  • endangered species
  • messiah complex
  • divided we stand
  • legacy
  • young x-men
  • manifest destiny
  • x-Infernus
  • Messiah war
  • Utopia
  • Nation X
  • Necrosha
please let me know if I am missing any thing, all so not sure were wolverine,x 23,cable or x-force goes with any of these and especially the new mutants.

:techman::techman::techman::techman:

with dark horse's anouncement that they are going digital I was wondering what other companies are going digital and for what devices and if they worth it?

Yes. Digital positives:

No paper (good for environment)
Small package (I have a Kindle Fire)
Space saver
No destruction

Negatives:
Lack of compilations
No appreciation (not that you ever had a chance of getting rich off of comics, anyway)

Miscellaneous:
No ads
No holographic covers (but we'll probably get animated covers in exchange)

I love the digital age of comics. It's the ONLY reason I've recently started reading again (the Transformers G1 line starting from Megatron Origin).

It's actually allowed me to finally really get into comics like I've been trying to for years. I've gone to three or four different comic shops, and they're all small, hard to find places in bad parts of town.

OUT THIS WEEK:

INFESTATION 2 TRANSFORMERS #1 (of2)
Dr. who #14 ongoing vol 2

I would love to see the dr. get involved in the infestation series that would be awesome.

Let's see, the current Transformers comics are using G1-styled robots. Success. The current Transformers series of games is using G1-styled robots. Success. Hollywood uses Bionicle-styled robots to make comics. Failure. Hollywood uses Bionicle-styled robots to make Transformers games. Failure. Hollywood uses Bioncle-style robots to make Transformers movies. Success. There was a point I was trying to make here, until I got to that last sentence. :p
