Did the real Willie Mays ever see "In the Cards"?

Not knowing baseball players that well, I think I'd assumed when the episode first came out that the real Willie Mays was deceased. Of course, now I know he's still alive, as of this writing. With that in mind, I'm curious if he ever saw "In the Cards".

I have no reason to believe Willie Mays is a Star Trek fan (of course no reason to believe he's not, for that matter), but I have to wonder what a noted ball player might think of a sci-fi series, set in the future, that includes an episode focusing on two young men trying to acquire YOUR baseball card.

You could always write him a fan letter and ask, but be sure to talk about baseball first.

I realise this is from three years ago, but I was Googling the answer, myself. Just so you know, Willie Mays is still alive at 86. Still haven't found out if he's seen the episode or not, but he was only 66 when the episode aired, so there is a chance. I'll let you know if I find anything.

I'm sure famous players like Mays have been used to their names popping up in all sorts of pop culture. So I doubt he'd be surprised (even if he is a Trek fan).
