Did Scotty change the future at all?

I generally don't watch it for the minutia. Though if I notice something, I will note it on MA where applicable (and if it hasn't been noted already).

There was never a version of the past where Scotty didn't give the formula to him. Even before they went back in time Scotty had given the formula.

Alternate timelines is just a cop out for people who can't handle time travel. It's not really time travel if you go to another universe now is it?
