Did Janeway kill Tuvix? I dunno. Maybe.
Wow...I think Tuvix took out Janeway and Chacotay in Resolutions (the very next episode) but unfortunately the "trap" that removed them from power, without actually killing his very close friends, took a week too long to tick over and set.
If while he was still a person, Tuvix had access to a Vidiian database, he would have been more than aware that this insect was in their flight path, or he changed Voyagers trajectory, so that the tip of the command crew would certainly be put in peril by a little nip.
Hell, Tuvix could have fabricated the venom, injected the Captain and her XO with a timed release system, so that they would seem to have been bit when he had a perfect alibi, not as perfect as not existing anymore, but something believable could have been thunk up.
Tuvix then might have mind melded himself to forget, so he wouldn't have to live with the guilt of being a complete asshole, which would also explain why Tuvok was in the dark later, but frankly it was either him or them... But because of poor timing, it turned out to be him and them.
Everyone seems to forget that Tuvix was made up of three.. there was a plant involved.
Only the Tuvok part of Tuvix would have been affected in Repression, but instead of mind melding all the Marquis (this being a later season example of existing Federation/Marquis division), Tuvix would have tried to overcome his targets by giving them food poisoning.I was wondering about if Tuvix stayed.
Ignoring logic in Workforce, made Tuvok sick which helped identify the problems with reality.
The personality of Teero (From Repression) that hypnotriggered Tuvok on a murderous rampage... Shouldn't maybe Neelix was been "activated" as well? Or would Tuvix have just walked that #### off?
Now combine these two in Tuvix, and you have someone who could have both the character and the skills to actually pose a threat to Janeway's power monopoly at some point in the future. Conclusion: the semi-vulcan hedgehog had to "disappear"
(how's that for a conspiracy-type theory? )
