I loved Avery Brooks as Hawk on Spencer: For Hire. So I already had him typecast, in a sense. Since I’ve only been watching DS9 for a short time from the last episode of season 1 until early season 4 where it currently stands on H&I, I’ve gotta hand it to him. He’s got a few dimensions to his role here that take time to get a reading on. Don’t quite know who he is yet.
So far I find the Sisko character more part of a larger piece, and not at the center of the show. But no, AB’s acting is not a put off in any way for me.
