Did anyone else dislike...

I actually suggested once (and I still think it's a great idea) that they do an actual Captain Proton serial. They could do it like old times, and show them at theaters before movies and such. I know I'd go to see them, even if I didn't like the movie they were attached to.

Nearly every moment set on the holodeck in the entire series made me cringe. The writers should have been barred from using them.

I liked captain proton...not sure about a cereal but i can see a mini animation movie / show about him...

I rather liked Captain Proton. Easily my favorite of the Trek holo-programs. I points back to the pulp sci-fi roots of all these series, and there's a solid connection there. I suppose if one is not a fan of pulp fiction, there's going to be that non-connect. But for someone like me, pulp fiction is what it's all about. Really, of all the Trek series, it was only TOS that had that pulp sci-fi heart to it. I wonder, how many of you who didn't like the Captain Proton angle also didn't quite care for TOS?

It's been very interesting to read some of the replies. I really appreciate all the contributions. I also hope everyone has a merry Christmas, or happy holiday if you prefer. :D

I will admit to never really getting into some of the older stuff like Flash Gordon. I don't doubt that it's a classic, but it's never really appealed to me.

No, I liked it. Though Tom's fantasy world should have been left to a single episode or two as was done with DS9's Our Man Bashir episode. Which I also liked. Afterall, what the heck is a holodeck for if not to explore fantasies. It was silly fun.
