Dexter season 3 (spoilers)

Sounds like Lindley is really stretching the logic of the character there. :wtf:

I'm what now?

Heh heh freudian typo.
Doeaks' ending is one of the things that bothered me. They had created a pretty awesome point of no return situation and didn't take the easy way out by making Doakes evil, then had it all wiped out by Lila.
Yeah, it was obvious much earlier on that the writers were maneuvering Lila to kill Doakes, which would permit Dex to kill Lila. I was really hoping, given how obvious the plot mechanics had become, that was all a red herring and it would go down more like, Doakes kills Lila in self-defense and then someone outta the blue kills Doakes - maybe one of the Miami cops, on the mistaken assumption that the "Bay Harbor Butcher" was about to kill again, one of those snap-decision type things. It would have taken some fancy writing, but it's better than doing exactly what's expected.

And Doakes being demonized publicly sat very wrong with me. At the very least, couldn't he have become a pop culture hero as the "Dark Defender," complete with his own comic book series and crazed internet fandom? :D For the general public to be wrong on two counts - the BHB being a public-spirited vigilante and being Doakes, who really did fit the model of the public-spirited vigilante much better than Dexter ever could - would be wonderfully ironic and fitting. Two wrongs do make a right.
