Devon's town

I don't know, maybe its just me, but some of those sets on the early TNG shows were awful..the Arsenol Of Freedom comes to mind..just awful. What 'fake' sets do you think they pulled off quite well...for me it is the INNERLIGHT. Especially at the end when the ship is taking off..it really looks like they are out in the sun watching it...

What are some of your favorite and least favorite sets...

Rob

Pratically all sets after they got their new cinematographer..Marvin Rush? I think. Most sets in Season 1 and 2 look very bad, specially due to the lighting, but in Season 3 and beyond they become good.

I agree with you, the set for the Inner Light felt very realistic, I thought it was filmed outdoors at first!

Oddly enough, I quite like some of the obviously fake sets. It makes the episodes feel more "theatrical" somehow. Yeah, I'm a little odd here.

I like the set they used in the Sheliak episode. Where Data has to go down to persuade the human settlement to leave.

That sounds more like something a Whovian would say to me.

I do actually generally prefer the old Who to the new version, funnily enough.

I don't know, I like the slightly "stagey" feel of shonky sets, as long as everything else is good enough to maintain suspension of disbelief, of course.
