Details About Galaxy's Edge - New Disney Themed Land

One of the sites I go to, I think it was Io9, Tor, or Entertainment Weekly actually did an article around the time Galaxy's Edge opened comparing it to Star Trek: The Experience. I was shocked when I saw the article, because I figured nobody except the hardest of the hard core Trekkies even remembered The Experience.

Yeah, I remember that article, but IIRC, it might have been before "Rise of the Resistance" even opened.

The new ride makes the similarities even more acute.

I would love to think that LOTS of people remember ST:TE, but it was only around for a comparatively short period of time (ten years) and ended 13 years ago. Good times.

Out of curiosity, has anyone bought the new art book related to Galaxy's Edge? I've seen it at the local B & Ns but not sure if I want it atm. As if I need more books for my huge nerd library... :rommie: :D

I really find it easier to flip through copies to help make that decision, but it's harder when they're wrapped naturally. ;)

As a Trekkie, all this talk about Galaxy's Edge is really making me miss Star Trek: The Experience. I went to that once and was totally blown away.
We can’t have anything.

Like the playmobile Enterprise, this is best for kids. I have never been to Disney-whatever…I’d just see the folks in costumes not as characters but as future heat stroke victims.

It’s okay Mr Stormtrooper…my loyalty to the Empire is guaranteed…………………………I’m from the planet Nix-on

I'm going to be going to the Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland soon. I'm thinking about building my own lightsaber at Savi's, but I'm concerned about getting it home on the airplane. Does anyone know if Disney can arrange to have it shipped home for me? I know they could before the park closed, but I can't find any information on after it reopened.

Maybe it's just me, but I've watched the tours on Youtube and can't really see a lot of point beyond seeing the life sized ships. The ride looks awfully lame and the rest of it is just shameless cash grabbing.

Mind you, looks better than the Avengers compound...

This is a remarkably ignorant comment. But, to each their own.

I've seen several sites call Rise of the Resistance absolutely incredible.

It's incredible. And then some.

I've not been, I've watched videos. The story for the ride was bad. The ships, buildings and costumes look very good.

So if you've got first hand experience, share it and tell me why my second hand take on it is wrong.
