Destroying Tornadoes

I propose an experiment.

First, he could have a friend step lightly on his finger. It shouldn't really hurt, they don't have to stamp on it, just push it.

Then, he could try sticking his finger between the brake pad and rotor of a friend's car and have them push on the brake peddle by the same amount and see what the result is.

Yes? No?

I think my proposed experiment will have superior results. ;) Your experiment is quite good though. :)

^Both suggested experiments are good, however, I'd go with a Flintstones example. (In honor of noknowes belief that Dinos and Mammoths actually coexisted LINK).

We can cut a hole in the bottom of a car, get it up to about average city driving speed (30mph), then let noknowes show us just how little energy is actually needed to brake a moving car, by sticking his feet through the hole and stopping the car with his bare feet.

Sound reasonable? I certainly wouldn't argue with data of that sort, provided it's properly documented and witnessed.

Hair dryers are the solution. They don't use any joules of energy since I don't even have to do anything but plug them in! We'll aim them at the tornado and it will dissipate from all the conflicting air currents!

Alright, you've all had your fun here.

I would like it if future discussions in sci-tech can be carried out more sensibly. Don't hound people who seem naive or misguided. It can appear aggressive, and that isn't good for anybody. We want to create a welcoming atmosphere in sci-tech. We want this to be a place where people feel comfortable asking questions and talking about their ideas without fear of being ripped to pieces.

Posters who get under your skin you should ignore. Do not feed the trolls.

And remember that it doesn't matter who you're addressing. Flaming is warnable. There are no valid excuses.
