Spoilers Describe a novel terribly

I'm going to write a 2-novel LaForge story---Forget that, it'll be a single LaForge novel with just the bones of two novels jammed together to create a terrible story. (Indistinguishable From Magic)

George Sanders decides that sacrificing himself and his crew to stop the Borg is more important than giving Trek authors an opportunity to include him in future Trek novels.

An infant Kurn is grounded for throwing his food and thus changes the course of Klingon history.

George Sanders?!? The late actor who was the first "Mr. Freeze" on the Adam West Batman TV series?? What does he have to do with Star Trek??

Oh. Capt. Sanders (from DS9:"For the Uniform"). I see: A Singular Destiny named him George (after the actor?), and killed him off. On the other hand, the ST RPG named him Harlan (What? Did they, ahem, "chicken out" of calling him "Harland"?)

"What's the matter, Col. Sandurz? Chicken?" -- Lord Dark Helmet, Spaceballs

I always surmised that Harlan was his first name and that he went by his middle name, George. Thus, his full name was H. George Sanders.

The first is A Singular Destiny, which deals with the immediate aftermath of the Borg Invasion. There's a chapter containing Captain Sanders' final log entry, in which he details his plan to engage multiple Borg vessels and recommends that his entire receive posthumous commendations for their bravery during the crisis.

The second is The Art of the Impossible, which covers several decades of Alpha Quadrant history (and may be the best Trek novel I've read thus far). My earlier post was reference to a 1-year-old Kurn angrily throwing his bowl of food across the family dining room in front of guests. Ultimately, he was left at home while his parents and brother traveled to Khitomer. We know the rest.

And to think you could have gone along with the game and just given the titles in your original post.

Royal Jelly, The Enterprise Cloaks and Locutus shows up - Resistance.

A murder mystery, some flash backs and a not so epic Borg vs Changeling fight - Lesser Evil

Pike has a mid life crisis while Spock plays hunt the green salami - Vulcan's glory

Through the looking glass at Warp factor 7 - Myriad universes series

Its my planet and I'll leave if I want to - Spock's World

Is it a rock, is it a pizza...no its a silicon based lifeform! - Devil in the sky

If this does not work, nothing will - Destiny novels

I didn't care for it outside of some character bits, but at the time I was comparing it to the Mike W. Barr/David Ross version of Kirk's first mission on the Enterprise for DC's Star Trek Annual #1 was found the novel quite wanting in comparison. Maybe I'll give my copy another read someday. But as I recall, it doesn't really jibe with TOS in a lot of details -- McIntyre has Sulu starting as the Enterprise's helmsman instead of a physicist, for instance.
It's not so bad actually, my problem with it is that for a first adventure of the TOS crew it's not a strong one. The characters are interesting. The comic isn't so strong either but both have their own merits.

There's a sucker born every minute. (Enterprise: The First Adventure)
It didn't happen (Indistinguishable from Magic)

What STID should have been. (Prime Directive)
This. If they wanted to do a "NuKirk is reckless and needs to get taken down a peg" movie it could've been "he screws up with a primitive culture big time" rather than "Khan did 9/11". But that's a discussion for another time.

Jurassic Trek (TOS: First Frontier)
Trek's Brexit (TNG: Paths of Disharmony)
Where Harry Kim has more depth in 20 pages than he does in 172 episodes (VOY: Pathways)
Basically Day of Honor and The Raven smushed into one (VOY: Seven of Nine)
