Demora Sulu having a son or not?

Exactly. We know Demora exists, and we know Akira exists and his her grandson.

The existence of any person in between is pure speculation. We'd be essentially making up a Human being which has not been seen or referenced directly. :vulcan::rommie:

That's splitting hairs. If there's a grandson, then there is a son or daughter. An adopted son or daughter is no less real than a biological one.

I think Markonian might've been kidding. At least, I hope so. :P

I realize that I have set off an avalanche here. Fact is, that I liked One Constant Star and the Sulus very much. And Demora was preoccupied with other things during that novel. Hopefully DRG III enlightens us one day.

SPOILERS FOR PHASE II

It's worth mentioning that the fantastic fan series Phase II had an episode with Takei playing an older alternate timeline Sulu and regular Sulu in the movie era. In the movie era scene Damora is introducing Sulu to her infant daughter. It's not really canon (although this ep is better than a lot of canon Trek) , but I consider it an alternate reality at least.

Stop mentioning alternative timelines. Timelines - keeping track of them is a fulltime job :cardie:. I recently read 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I´ve had my fill of it, even if I liked it.
