Heh. I saw that about 2 hours before you posted, when I happened to come across the bookmark for your site and think "I wonder if he's got anything else ready?"
I was about to buy the Intrepid plans, when I noticed that the shipping price is $14 for plans which already cost $35. $49 goes a long way toward a tiny chunk of a used textbook for grad school.
I just recieved my Defiant blueprints today and I've been trying to send an email to the publishers but haven't any joy so I was wondering if it was okay to give my feedback to David Scmidt here on the board.
I was just going tosay that I liked the way the plans were presented and it was good to see how it all more or less matched up with what we saw on screen. There was however one thing I wanted to say and that was the condition that I recieved the plans in. I'm not blaming the publisher but I realsied that on the envelope it has Do not Bend written on it and somehow in between the publisher sending them out and me recieving them someone ignored this notice and I recieved the plans with folds and creases.
I was wondering if I could make a suggestion that in future plans could be delivered in hard backed envelopes so as to avoid any problems of plans being unmistakenly folded and creased during delivery.
Just like to say thanks for the plans and hope to see more great work in the future.
ps Aplogies if this isn't allowed but as I couldn't email out to them and as Schmidt is a poster here I thought it'd be okay.
Please keep in mind that the Gentlebeing in question is doing Full Fleged Deckplan drawings not just External views that you can readly get. Alot of time and effort goes into creating a set. I'm amazed that he has managed to get done what he has done. Most of us have one perhaps two projects that we would invest the time and effort to create a full set of deck plans for.
'Gentlebeing' - I like the sound of that. Better than 'Bloke'...
Crewman 47: we have taken all reasonable steps to keep the plans in pristine condition. How a postee could manage to bend these while in a bubblepack... I have no idea. You can write to me at info@strategicdesignpub.com.
Bork 451: these are artwork, created for a particular market (sci-fi techical work fans). As to whether why said market is PAYING for them - I can only state that one either is or is not such a fan, and I couldn't begin to explain the attraction (in my case obsession) with collecting same. However, so far, fans seem pleased.
