Defiance Season 2 Discussion

The term sleeper agent is imprecise, sorry.

There are two keys, including the one inside Irisa?

One is silver, the other is gold.

They're both AI, probably in constant communication with each other sorting their shit out and moving pieces across the board despite how the fleshies are never as predictable as they'd hope.

The lawyer has been implanted, or he has been targeted for implantation.

Only time will tell.

ROBIN FUCKING DUNNE!!!

Meeko, your Jew, is Will Zimmerman from Sanctuary.

He played well with Tapping, I was supposed to think he was too young but he was great in the part and really grew on me. Not as much as Ryan Robbins did though. I saw Dunne at a con with Tapping a few years ago and when I was in the queue to get into the auditorium Amanda Tapping cut through the queue RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, she smilled and me and said excuse me and also HI because I said Hi and ..

Dunne was great as the Irathient and I want to see more of him. I want to see city Irathients, enough with the feral bikers. He looks wonderful in the make up and has an interesting face.

She is absolutely utterly skinny IRL.

What was hilarious though is that there was a couple behind me dressed up in SG:1 uniforms and the woman did not shut up the whole time I was in the line. Her partner was silent other than grunts but she was just omg squeeing a hundred miles an hour. And when Tapping cut in front of me this woman was so busy blathering at the people behind her that she missed it.

Doesn't Irisa still have both pieces of the Kalavar insider her after last season's finale?
Holy crap, I didn't realize that was Will from Sanctuary, although that would explain why he seemed familiar.
I'm definitely curious how he ties into the whole Kaziri/Kalavar thing.
I really hope they don't break up Alak and Christie, I really liked them together last season. Although I guess it does make sense that she wouldn't just instantly fit into the Castithan culture.
So was everyone in the club a cross-species dresser? At first I thought it was just a Castithan club, but this one made it seem everyone one there was pretending to be Castithan. Hmmm, I wonder if any of the Votans pretend to be another race like that. Imagine a Sensoth trying to pretend to be one of the other races, that would be..... interesting.
I was glad that it they didn't go the obvious direction with the handmaiden's murder and actually made it someone other than Stahma.
I loved Doc Yewel's line, about there being two kinds of friends, ones who will help you hide a body, and me.
I'm glad that Nolan is finally finding out about what is going on with Irisa.

Here's the Defiance wiki I've been using
.

Oh! She has both keys. Inside her.

That makes a lot more sense.

(Season one was a long time ago, and I despised it.)

Considering what she's doing to everyone else, when she's giving them the tongue... If Irisa is supposed to have both keys inside her (is it safe to have both keys inside her?) which means that eventually later in the season, she is going to implant one of the keys into him.

My guess is bloodlines.

They'd be the grandchildren or great grand children of those two lovers from a thousand years ago.

Which would make them cousins?

In some cultures on Earth today, it is fine to marry and breed with your first cousin.

Sure orphans, but that doesn't mean there aren't distant relatives. Still maybe he was in the snake cult too? Ended up rescued or dumped and adopted?

Their family hasn't been (awake) on Earth for a thousand years.

She's a pure blood.

The lovers from the dreams died, or went into stasis. That being said they could have died of old age on Earth in the 10th century, or lived there for 40 years before going into stasis.

Even if their death was a surprise, their AI can chose to bring them back from well past dead.

so unless you're going backwards up the family tree, to make hundreds of cousins in the arks relevant, we are talking at best two or three generations.

They breed considerably slower with smaller litters than tribbles, but if the 5 children of the original from the dream have 5 children (30) who have 5 children (180) who have 5 children (1080.), well that's a lot of progeny in just 5 generations.

I'm wondering if this ship story will resolve by the end of this season or drag out into the next. I feel like it's going to resolve. Then they will have to open something up, e-rep vs Defiance perhaps, for season 3. I'd like to give all woowoo the flick, though admittedly it's been better recently since it is more fiber optics and less mysticism.

Rafe has no one to get guns off to fight a war against the E-Rep, and the E-Rep has been utterly fair to every one in Defiance so far... I just had a horrid thought.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Imagine a Canadian Flag in front of City Hall in Defiance and the streets being patrolled by Mounties?

Who here has had a sex dream about a Mountie?
