The Friendly Ghost woke up.
It wasn't a dream, exactly, but it was more than a feeling; a lot more than a feeling. Captain Williams had a certainty. He was anticipated, if not accurately described as welcomed.
Caspian slid into a robe hanging from a hook next to his bunk and slipped into the chair at his desk. He needed to speak to the Devali Uhalan. The comm signal chirped, before he could wake his terminal up, indicating an incoming call.
“Captain Williams.” Caspian informed the caller.
In his now familiar accent, Radagesh replied, “Casper, I think our friend might be waking up.”
Caspian answered, “She's awake.”
There was another signal on the comm. “Williams here.”
The bridge communications officer on watch answered, “Captain, we are entering Phantom Station's traffic sphere. We will be docking in fifteen minutes.”
“Very good. I'm on my way to the bridge now.” Captain Caspian Williams didn't worry about a formal sign-off. He reached for his closet panel next to the hook that had held his robe. The door opened and his hand landed on his uniform without bumping into the wall plate.
“Radagesh, I will see you as soon as we are docked and secured for off-loading our supplies.”
The image of Radagesh on Casper's desk screen inclined his head and replied, “We have a great deal to do. I hope you are aware of that, but I will know better when we meet in person.”
“Yes, I am aware. Casper out.”
The captain was dressed and out in the corridor before the screen finished going blank.

Chief Nichols was starting to get excited. She was up and in her office early. The chief engineer felt she had a solid theory and a way to test it. Now, as she set the Doohan's engines into standby and initiated their Diagnostics At Rest Cycle while the NCC-6577 idled in the station's space dock, she had to figure out how to justify committing the ship's entire ECS (energy cycle system) to curving spacetime itself. They had a clear mission to accomplish, and Zoe Nichols' personal project would interfere with that.
However, before she worked on that issue, she needed to track down the Chief of Boat and tell the Master Chief, she was NOT going to be caught dead in that vulgar corruption of a Starfleet uniform.
