Deep Space Station Transporter Pad TOS

Sure, but what is with the people, e.g. deep space station personnel , to be beamed from the station?
IDK - As the Station is in deep space - nowhere near a planet; why would you put a transporter control there as the only time you need to stand there is when your ship is beaming you back. All it would do is make a recipe for disaster if someone wanted to say - commit suicide.

And remember to beam you back, the transporter needs a communicator signal of some sort; and non-starfleet freighter crewmen may not have one - but the two person pad probably does, meaning if you stand on there and don't have a communicator, your ship can still beam you back.:angel:

Given that in TOS they considered interaship beaming dangerous; I always assumed those dual transporter pads were just there to allow a Starship to beam personnel to the office safely.

Thus they were never designed to be used other than a safe 'Target' for other transporter systems.

"Interaship"?

"Intraship" means beaming to another point in the same ship. "Intership" they did all the time: "Charlie X", "Space Sped", '"The Omega Glory", "The Doomsday Machine," and "For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky" and "The Tholian Web".

Perhaps for when the station is built in planetary orbit?
Or in-ship beaming is dangerous for Enterprise but not for a pad which is designed for it?
