Dedication plaques

How about the plaques of something like the Astral Queen or Kobayashi Maru: civilian ships. :P

Astral Queen...very tricky name to put into an image, unlike the Raven and the Santa Maria. Perhaps a rendition of the ship itself, using the BSG design. ;)
Is there any info at all on the AC other than it's name and the fact that it was a transport?

As for the Kobayashi Maru, in my personal canon the ship itself never existed (though the type of ship is "real") and the name comes from...oh say Colonel Akira Kobayashi, head of Starfleet Tactical 2170-2185, and the chief Tactical instructor at the Academy after that until he retired. Being the first instructor to set the "no win scenario" test for his students, before it was officially adopted.
Off the top of my head, anyway. ;)

Ah yeah, good point. Naming the "unwinnable scenario" after a real doomed civilian ship would probably be a bit.. wrong.

As for Astral Queen, there's really nothing on her at all. But for a civilian transport with such a fancy name, it's dedication plaque could be something wild and Sixties ;)

A modernized plaque early 25th Century

That's the thing with dedication plaques, they're era specific so there's not much room for variation.

Interesting take on the Antares' plaque. On the one hand side I think it is a cool idea to put the ship's master on the plate, on the other hand side I think it should only be connected with the ship.

I had a similar thought, but I wanted something more than just a reg & launch date to fill up the space. Perhaps the merchant fleet has a tradition dating back to the old ECS days, that when the ship's master retires or is reassigned that he takes the plaque with him as a memento and a new one is made for his successor? Which it'd have to be in this case as I doubt Ramart was Captain for eighty odd years. ;)
