I had no ideas too, until it hit me today. Actually it was a result of a fanfic, of which a new chapter I read here. The general idea is so close that I worry it's going to become a plagiarism...

That's why I re-read that chapter to make sure I'm not too close. I think I'll change it from medical staff to...some another department. The dilemma stays the same, just the people and the cause of dilemma is going to be different.

well, i just thought i'd point it out. there is nothing wrong with getting ideas from someone else. my captains personality is for instance strongly based on Mackenzie Calhoun. but one must watch out. sometimes you don't even notice, happened to me too once. fortunately i noticed it in time.

Hmm, maybe I can unload my long festering story out of Google docs...need to give it an actual ending though, and a middle for that matter, currently it's just an overly long introduction to the characters.

Is it allowed to mention (in a conversation between two characters) a canon character? The canon character was only mentioned in the show too; he was long time dead by the time of the show.

^ i was wondering the same thing. except mine isnt dead. she wont appear but the captain will just mention her name when asked who's orders he's under.

^As long as it is very brief and the character makes no actual appearance, yes you can.

I am new here, and was just wondering for this contest, is it ok to refer to Geneticly altered humans from the Eugenics Wars? I have a great Idea for a character that will refer to some characters but not be any of them.
