As someone who isn't familiar with your wider body of work, there are gaps that I need to fill for myself but I think this is a well-written look at a dimension of the Trek universe that I certainly found interesting. I've already started browsing into your other work.

Unfortunately, my characters have such rich lives that they are an easy source for stories for challenges 
But that comes for the price of drawing their past from my earlier stories into the stand alone tale. I always try to explain things, but at the same time not be redundant for those who know the other stories, so as I wrote Rush, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In this story it clearly didn't.
Oh, well...there's always another challenge
