I liked all her appearances except for the movie hairdo's. Did big hair go out of style?

Yes it did post 80's ans then the style was all straightened and unfussy hence the movie hair-do's. Personally I like the big hair

It's a weak link even if it's fun. I mean surely by that time period the TOS dresses wouldn't even be still in style.

There is that one other guy (a passing crewman) who wears a red version of that dress in Encounter at Farpoint. The uniforms for everybody get a lot more modern looking (in my opinion) when they switch from the jumpsuit uniforms they all have in the first couple seasons.

yes I absolutely agree completely! Thats kind of what I always felt that maybe she had many other different dresses similar to that blue one (e.g. maybe a green or yellow one for example). I agree that the blue dress was her best outfit IMO.

Have never seen the episode "family" but what did she wear?

Second vote for that dress.
She wore that dress and in my honest opinion her hair looked fabulous there.

Agreed. It woudl have been really interesting to have seen different colours and variations of it.

Yeah,. the standard uniform (season 1 or 6 style) suited her visage better than the glorified yoga mats she had to put on.

I'd lean toward season 1's outfit but it would have been replaced by the season 3 look had she kept the same style of outfit.

Loved her red bead headpiece in season one as well. Looked absolutely astounding on blu-ray, very muted in the VT-edited original, which didn't help.


Of the non-uniform dresses, the teal blue one looked closest in feel to a uniform, the dark red maroon outfit was her best color, but the mauve/puce outfit was simply unflattering.

I thought she should have been in the same exact uniform that the others wore, like the men. I was in the US army and there were uniforms that were exactly the same men/women.
However there were class C uniforms that differed too.
The A / B uniforms differed too.
But it seemed. That for the most part most days we all wore the same uniform.
Troi was supposed to be " the hot one".
