Dead Stop

Last night, I saw Dead Stop, and I was wondering about any follow ups in the novelizations especially about the origins of the station. I'm not sure why anybody would build it since I don't see how anybody would profit from it.

Also, I heard there was a Cardassian in that computer room but I couldn't see it when I stood close to the TV or even when I checked the screenshots on Trekcore.com. Where was it?

Can't help you with both of your questions, sorry. :(

Just wanted to say that I love Dead Stop. After all these years it's still one of my favorite ENT episodes. It has a wonderfully spooky Twilight Zone atmosphere to it.

Funny you should say that.... this little gem is by Hoshi's sis...

 That was wonderful! Thanks. Yeah, the end of Dead Stop is very reminiscent of many X-Files episodes, too.

Finn, I've rewatched the scene on DVD, but I also can't find the Cardassian. I suppose he's somewhere in the background.

Dead Stop was a lot of fun. I liked Trip and Reed getting into trouble and Archer and T'Pol saving Mayweather. And no -- no books have covered the background of the station, but what an intriguing idea!

I just realized that since it takes place right after the incident at the Romulan minefield, it is very possible that the station is deep in what is the Neutral Zone during the time of TNG/DS9/VOY.

It would make an interesting book. Though it may involve the borg somehow I would suspect. The Borg assimalted the species that invented this station and thats where the Borg gets there ability to fix/heal themselves.

... Or, the Trek Universe might have more than six people in it.

A story just about ``who made this station'' isn't by itself interesting. The motivations and the intentions of the creators could, possibly, be; stories about ships that have figured out how to game the system --- getting repairs (or upgrades!) without paying in brains --- would be different from remakes of this. By itself, though, the station doesn't need an explanation more than the planet-killer or the whale probe do.

I like that the series have many connections, but sometimes it can get ridiculous.

Agreed, nicely put. I like this episode, it's just one of them things you find out there.

as to what the station could gain. well knowledge for one.
as it roamed through the minds of those that were thought dead.
it may have been attracted by travis due to his being a boomer and having the most time out in space.
