Wow. What a visceral experience that was. I felt a whole range of emotions watching this trailer. Mostly now, I feel depressed.

Either way, I will be getting this to see if the game lives up to the trailer. Even if it gets halfway, I feel it will be epic on so many levels.

I love that trailer for the simple reason that I remember it. It's definitely going for pulling on your heart strings, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Would I like to play an entire game with the same assault on my emotions? No. I would be too depressed. But it does get me interested in the game.

Why does it seem that this sort of game is going to have less depth to it than a conversation with Paris Hilton...If its anything like the linear, repetitive L4D games then I will avoid it because you get bored after 2 hours.

Different strokes I guess. I've played 50 hours of Left 4 Dead 2 thus far, and quite a few in the first one, and have yet to become bored with it.

That being said, I don't think this will be like those games. The L4D games are almost like playable zombie movies, but this is supposed to be a lot more open.

There will be four characters to pick from, these being your classes as well. Two of them have been revealed, Xian Mei and Sam B. Xian Mei is the Chinese receptionist at the hotel who wants to travel the world and meet new people. Sam B is a one-hit-wonder washed up rapper playing a gig. The other two, Logan and Pulna, have yet to be revealed.

The game will be open world and first person melee, allowing you to combine and upgrade weapons. You can also level up your character, so it has rpg aspects. It releases August 1.

I personally am not a fan of the zombie genera but I am interested in this game due to it being an open world on a tropical island as well as having some rpg aspects.
