DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

i noticed that Birds of Prey and Superboy got cut this week.

What else is on th e chopping block?

I'm glad Superboy was cut. I had been contemplating dropping it for a while and then the decision was made for me so I just bought the last few issues to maintain a full run.

I can honestly say that I used to transfixed by those three titles years ago, but immediately felt disgusted by them after the new 52 reboot because of all the tossed history.

You have play for the team they put you on.

John Romita Sr. comes out of retirement to draw his first Superman cover. It's a variant cover for Superman 34. Link

Nice cover, but the S shield needs work and the left arm looks to be seceding from the rest of the body.

Nice cover, yeah, but I've been having a few problems with the inconsistencies in how the new shield is drawn. It is supposed to be on top of the uniform, not drawn like it is sewn into it.

Mo meed to apologize. I just felt it was worth noting his age. It's also pretty cool that he's drawing a cover while his son does the interiors.

Did anybody read Scott Snyder's The Wake? The final issue has come out. I think I need to read it all again at once to really get a sense of it. I was really enjoying it but the ending was a little out there. I wish this series had lasted long, the final five issues really glossed over a lot of events that would have been great to have seen.

^ This has something that has been on my mind as well. We'll be three years in now next month. These are no longer "new". They should just call them The 52 and be done with it...there aren't even 52 books any more...I believe there is something like 48...or something (not that there HAS to be 52 books but that was one of the original selling points).

A friend of mine joked not until Action Comics #1000 lol.

I just read Charles Solue is leaving Superman/Wonder Woman. Sad Soule is leaving...as I felt he did a great job at exploring the relationship without being in our face about it as I originally felt DC would do with this book. Peter Tomasi and Doug Manke take over with November's #13.

At least Soule will still be on Red Lanterns. He is a super busy guy at both companies, and I suppose something had to give eventually. Tomasi and Manke are a fine replacement, at least.

Is Tony Daniels leaving too?

With regards to "The New 52", I agree. They really need to stop using that tagline.

You're not the target no more.

It's fish.

Some punk walks into a borders, sees that it's NEW.

How is it new he asks?

The universe has been completely rebooted?

All of it?

Wow, and it's only been a couple years, so it's what, like 10 maybe 15 tpbs?

I can do that because it's New.

I'm getting in on the ground level.

The new 52 is going to grow up around me.

:)

I now have a vision of Guy Gardener entombed by growing piles of New 52 trade paperbacks. Except he will always have a way out because the pile of Voodoo will never be more than a single volume high.
