DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

So you think it's kinda like how the Japanese Declaration of War was lost behind a radiator while Pearl Harbour was being frakked?

You would think they would let them finish off the arc, or at least finish the issues they had started to work on.

They weren't fired. They quit. They didn't want to change their story so they walked rather than compromise.
I heard about all of that. I was just wondering if something else happened that made them decide to leave early.
Once again, the DC editors made themselves look bad at their New 52 panel at NYCC. Or at least worse then Marvel.
You'd think by now they'd be ready and willing to tackle those kinds of questions.

Maybe I've missed some issue but which characters does this refer to?

The problem became apparent when one fan pointed out that DC had killed off so many of its female/non-straight/ethnically diverse characters recently that it was starting to feel like tokenism to her.

ETA On the subject of women in comics, how does Marvel compare to DC?

For DC off the top of my head
Artist-Nicola Scott, Amanda Connor
Writers-Gail Simone, Christy Marx, Ann Nocenti,
Editorial-Bobbie Chase, Katie Kubert.
Executive-Diane Nelson

DeConnick is the only female I can think of at Marvel. Especially in the big three jobs: Editor, writer and artist. So its great that she speaks up, but is Marvel listening?

They asked the public to draw naked pictures of Harlequin committing suicide as a competition.

I can see how being put on a book that you would often need to know how to draw that, but frankly it's in poor taste to glamorize mental health issues.

Guy Gardener is coming out against dark humor and bad taste????????

I'm fine with that happening in a comic, because it's something that is likely to happen to the character.... Actually, the last 6 issues of the Harly Quinn series that finished in 2004 was a manic dream Harley was having after slitting her wrists and bleeding out in a bath tub.

Meanwhile DC asked children of all ages, to send in (10's of) thousands of naked pictures of a hot dying woman, which if they were smart they would use as a source for a poster book.

Porn drawn by 9 year olds and younger disseminated to the public at large by DC Comics?

I don't think many nine year olds read DC Comics, (anymore) and the call was to aspiring professionals not kids.

Wait, Guy Gardener thinks a woman in a bathtub = porn?????

Geoff is no Batman.

[hoarse whisper] I'm Batman[/hoarse whisper]

The bath tub thing actually happened.

I'm trying to squeeze two sorta similar things into the same cookie cutter.

But you're right just, because Harley was naked in the tub, it didn't make her suicide attempt porn.

Maybe it was Erotica or really, really tragic?

Batman/Superman was awesome again. This also continues to be the best Superman title as well lol. Pak is doing great stuff here. Although I detected an error. Lois says Selina correctly the first time, then a few pages later says Selena. First time in a while that I've seen any kind of error like that.

The Jae Lee art is terrible, it conveys no sense of motion or life. Everyone just looks like they're standing still and posing and it's pretty hard to understand what they're supposed to be doing at the time. Not to mention how it's hard to keep the two different Bat and Supes apart from each other.

There was a Sup/WW title back in 1993?! It's amazing how entire runs of series are just lost to time like that. Like the other day I came across a Heroes For Hire series from the late 90s. Did not know that existed!
