No he really doesn't...but he does need to get the hell off Detective.
A coworker and I discussed that very thing yesterday. We decided it was written on an iPhone using Autocorrect.Bleeding Cool reveals what Gail Simone will be doing?

I'm feeling harsh and semi-awful about it, but this article feels barely literate.
Maybe he does, but I don't mind. I haven't read any reviews for Catwoman, but what you 've outlined, I've heard many times before. It's just another case of sex being held to a "standard" that's not required of anything else. The way I see it, if comics can put violence and crime fighting in a spiced-up entertaining light, then why not sex as well?Well, I didn't read it ($3 is almost a pack of cigarettes, and I've literally got a thousand comics I haven't yet read), so I can't really give my own personal take, but what it seemed to be--and from review pages did appear to be the case--was that the fucking at the end was just the icing on an objectification cake, and worse than that seemed to mirror earlier scenes where Kyle used sex as a weapon, or more technically a physical and psychological shield against someone she had previously known, and who had engaged in sexualized violence against other women she knew, if not her specifically.Catwoman #1 and #2: Batman and Catwoman get it on while still in costume. Never seen anything like that before and I got a real kick out of it. I read that "10 Things We Don't Like" article and I don't know what the big deal is about the sex. It was well done and pretty tame. If it were any more subtle, it wouldn't be worth including.
Now, I can see how this could bother people. Sometimes women, when threatened, will try to seduce/fuck their way out of a situation. This is a valid thing to depict, since it happens in real life, like, literally all the time. Especially if the character's backstory is that of a street prostitute whose income and career were controlled by violent and domineering men. And you could even have the ending as is if the tone of the book was different. So what's unpleasant about it is that it doesn't really seem to be aware of any of it, or is aware and doesn't care, and tries to have its cheesecake and eat it too. I think for some people it's very difficult to square the constant set-of-ass-and-tits framing of the protagonist with a serious-minded I Spit On Your Grave-lite revenge trip, and a Tijuana Bible stapled to the end of the book only raises further questions about motivation and psychology, which Judd Winnick is neither interested in nor, one fears, capable of answering. Like, does the meagre validation of anonymous sex make you feel better after a straight-up murder? I suppose it's possible. Next time I kill a guy I'll have to try it.
Tl;dr version: Winnick brings up Serious Business, and him and March treat it with all the dignity of an Austin Powers movie.

Sorry, but to each his own. I've been enjoying his run on Detective so far.
Forgot to mention that the Flashpoint Hard cover is now for sale for those that want it or completists. I'll be passing on it.
After RIP, Detective was suppose to be written by Judd Winnick before Daniel got the job. Winnick only did a few stories: an epilogue to Battle for the Cowl, a three parter and a transition from Final Crisis to Battle For the Cowl. All of them were infinitely better than anything written by Daniel. It's really annoying that he was passed over for the job and that Daniel continues to churn out trash on the top DC book.Battle for the Cowl was a mess due to Daniel and only served in an unnecessary link between Batman RIP and Batman and Robin which was just launching and a story reason to show Dick claiming the cowl when we pretty much already knew this a long time before. Anyway I'm ranting. I'm glad there are those enjoying the book.
Battle For the Cowl seemed like the most ridiculous cash-in. I can't imagine anyone ever thought that Dick Grayson was not going to be Batman.Battle for the Cowl was a mess due to Daniel and only served in an unnecessary link between Batman RIP and Batman and Robin which was just launching and a story reason to show Dick claiming the cowl when we pretty much already knew this a long time before. Road to Flashpoint is actually pretty interesting.

Thank God those days are over, right?
Right?
...right?
Ellis' third. Where the Authority fought "God" (although the only "God" it made me think of was, "God, that was a reach, wasn't it? so they beat up Galactus, let's call it God and maybe make some people think this story is actually edgy in any meaningful way").Just finished reading Stormwatch #3 and I'm enjoying the story line. I dislike Midnighter's redesigned costume big time. It is ugly looking. I loved the City Avatars, that is something new that Cornell has incorporated. The moon story line harkens back to I think Millar's second arc? The arc where Jenny Sparks passed and Jenny Quantum was born so I kind of like that. The art work is decent. I'll stick around for the end of this arc but I'm kind of borderline on this book.

Action Comics #3 this continues to be outstanding...and I must say that Rags Morales does an fantastically beautiful Lois. I just love everything about this book right now. Most important though is that it is fun! Does anyone else think that Clark's landlady is going to turn out to be someone else? I get the feeling that she's not just a normal old lady the way Morrison has had her interact with Clark and especially after today's issue.
