DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Yeah, Sinestro is back as GL and using his own ring again which of course used to be Hal's. It's fall out from the War of the Green Lantern stuff.

Sinestro's ring as shown in the preview pages for GL #1 is a very different design than the one Jordan's been wearing for years (which is different from the one that he wore in the early years of the comic). Is it supposed to literally be Jordan's ring, or just Jordan's in the sense that he's taking over Jordan's job?

I notice that the design of Sinestro's new uniform - as well as his haircut - is taken directly from the movie.

So, this means that Hal will no longer be a member of the Justice League following the opening story line--or is the Sinestro situation temporary?

I read somewhere that Johns stated that Sinestro was using Hal's ring now. I've not been following the War of the Green Lantern's Aftermath so it's possible that things have changed or I'm just wrong :) Yeah I think most of the Lantern designs for the relaunch have been taken from the film.

I'm sure that Jordan's removal in Sinestro's favor is a passing situation. It's Hal's book.

Fuck, we're talking about people who can't keep Superman dead or Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon in wheelchairs. How long do you think they can stand to keep Hal Jordan on interstellar unemployment? ;)

For anyone interested, here is this weeks new number 1's according to Comixology's This Week page:
Action Comics
Animal Man
Batgirl
Batwing
Detective Comics
Green Arrow

Hawk & Dove
OMAC
Static Shock
Stormwatch
I underlined the ones I plan on getting.

I'll buy Action #1 this week.

The preview of OMAC does look like fun - layouts are very much "Kirby-inspired," which is to say pretty closely imitative of his style.

And if you can wait four weeks, the price drops a dollar. I am going to get Action and Detective this week and maybe Animal Man or Stormwatch later.

I'm planning to try "lesser" titles at 3.99 to give them a boost, and possibly wait on the ones that will probably sell big. I'm perverse.

Of those I only care about Action and Detective. I'm curious about Batgirl just to see how Babs ends up in the suit again.

For me, this week it's going to be...
  • Action
  • Batgirl
  • Batwing
  • Detective
  • Green Arrow
  • Justice League International
  • Stormwatch
  • Swamp Thing
