DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Yeah it can be confusing...Action Comics takes place even further back than Justice League which is "Five Years Ago". Morrison hasn't clarified exactly when Action takes place but I have assumed it's a couple of years or so before Justice League.

It's my understanding that AC#5 will take place, somewhat, "more in the past", maybe on the Kent farm during Clark's late teen years before/when his parents died. Or did I miss construe that.

Indeed so...but we don't know how (yeah yeah I guess we can assume from natural causes but Jonathon has had heart issues in the previous continuity). I also believe if I remember correctly that we are seeing the Legion of Superheroes in the next couple of issues. Or at least in some form.

Stormwatch was finally pretty cool. The team is coming together and we have an interesting development with the Stormwatch Shadow Cabinet dealing with Adam Zero. It's started off slowly but gaining momentum now. I'll probably stick around with this a while yet.

It's really really unfortunate that Paul Cornell is off the book.

#4 was when it really hit its stride.

According to Johnston the Demon Knights and Stormwatch are the same team, but in different eras. I think the city in Stormwatch was also in DK. It would have benefited from Cornell doing two books instead of Jenkins on one and Cornell on the other.

Sigh.

As for Animal Man/Swamp Thing, they are really developing the mythology between the Red/Green/Rot. I like they show how all the Arcanes even Abby is tied with the Dark/Rot/Other like Alec and Maxine are inherently tied with their elements.

I don't think it's Kryptonite...or if it is I don't think they've called it that. I'll have to go back and re-read to see if it's mentioned because I've already forgotten.

Damn...I didn't know Cornell is off Stormwatch already. I don't know that anyone else other than him would be able to handle such an ambitious book and make it good.

^ LOL. I'm dropping Justice League International. Not feeling it at all...it is the pacing of the arc that has bothered me more than anything else but also a non interesting villain as well. I had high hopes for this book and the team roster but it's just meh right now.

Is he leaving Stormwatch? I was under the impression that Paul Jenkins is writing a couple issues and then Cornell will be back.

It's not clear yet when Kryptonite makes its first appearance - it's even possible that it's not until the present day, when Supergirl brings it with her somehow.

Action #4 I really liked as it seemed, to me, like something was finally to start to happen a little bit. Interesting place to put a cliffhanger.

I can't find the interview, but I'm pretty sure "Action Comics" is supposed to be set only a few months/half a year before "Justice League" for their first arcs.
