I didn't get a download link with my invite, but after a quick check on the forums it seems the download link will be sent soonish.

The stress tests started in September. This will be my 3rd.

First they send an email saying you have been invited. Then later an email notifying which weekend and the download link.

So I wasn't the only one having fun with TOR this weekend.

What are the menus that pop up when you hit the direction buttons? The writing is to small for me to make out on my old analog TV.

If you're f2p you can't voice chat.

Left D-pad = Social menu, used for inviting, inspecting, ignoring...etc
Down D-pad = Emotes and canned chat
Up D-pad = Group Loot (when prompted during group battles), Switch Role (between your given role stance and DPS stance), Take Screenshot + a list of your available combos

I was just trying to do text chat. But first it told me I wasn't in a league, then when I tried another time it told me that (I can't remember what kind of chat) wasn't available in that area.

Yeah, before you type you need to select a channel by pressing Square. You generally want Shout for broadcasting throughout the city/HQ you are in, or Say for people close by.

Out of interest - anyone currently playing for free been persuaded to actually upgrade to a paid account?

Not quite...but I am tempted to eventually get the GL DLC. This would automatically bump my account up to the mid-level, which to be honest looks pretty generous by F2P standards. The six character slots would certainly be nice. I'd like to try out all the mentors but I've become too attached to my current characters to delete one just to find out.

I had money left on the last Playstation network giftcard I got so I went premium I like the extra character slots and being able to recieve attached items in the mail.

I was hoping we could, and I think it's possible by grouping like in any other MMO where you group and everyone joins the instance. Having a bit of trouble with Grodd.

^I did Gorilla Island today. Grodd just sucks. We wiped like 5 times. Then two players left, we got new ones, wiped again two times and then managed to defeat him.

There are way too many adds in that fight.

I was considering starting a character and giving the game a try in little bursts as I can work in time, but can't come up with a remotely decent name that isn't already taken.
