DC statehood referendum passes

Too bad for the Democrat Party we don't elect president by popular vote. And we never have.

We learned that in elementary school, didn't we?.
Which alters the fact that more people voted for Clinton how?

There is no "Democrat Party".

@MacLeod is in Great Britain. Not sure if "we" applies.

Given that my location clearly says Great Britain. We wouldn't really learn about how the US Presidential election system works?

That being said I'm fully aware of how the US Presidential election system works, I was simply pointing out that due to how the US system works the President isn't always representative of how the electorate voted in terms of the popular vote. And it's only happened about 5 times that the person who won the EC vote lost the popular vote or about 11% of the time.

All systems of how we elect our politicans have their pros and cons. But hypothetical if you were given a choice between keeping the EC or swiching to electing the US President by popular vote how would you vote

1.>Keep the EC
2.>Switch to popular vote

Whether or not the U.S. president is directly elected is besides the point. The point is that you can't say the Democratic Party is a dying regional party if 3 million more Americans voted for their presidential candidate over the other party's. The Democratic Party certainly has problems, but they don't amount to a death spiral.

I think the DNC needs to look up someone from Carrier. A lot of them still lost jobs. An average person who isn't from the Northeast is a big plus.
