DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Actually, I just don't go to the theater any more, mostly for financial reasons. So, it's not just waiting on the right movie but also waiting for any spare money.

One, I rarely go to the theaters in October because I don't care for all the horror stuff that abounds. Two, it is an either or decision because finances are tight and I prefer to be able to drive my car and get to work than see a movie.

I'm talking about interest, rather than finances (sorry if I gave that impression in the earlier post). Of the past few years, most superhero productions barely interest me, but the back-to-back of Black Adam and Wakanda Forever will draw me back in (even if that's a temporary feeling).

Fair enough. I know nothing of Black Adam and less interested in Wakanda Forever so it might just not be for me.

One, why would anyone set aside October moviegoing for one film released the following month as if there's some sort of limit on ability to see films? Two, it is not an either/or decision, as some want to see Black Adam, but have no interest in Wakanda Forever and vice versa.
My mom and I will probably be seeing both if not opening day, than at least the first week.
The average US citizen goes to see two movies per year, and that's a pre-pandemic statistic.
That's it? During the busy months, my mom and I go practically every week. But we also go to see matinees and the only thing we get is a $2 pop refill, so we get out fairly cheap.

It seems pretty definite at this point that
Henry Cavill is back as Superman in the post-credits scene of Black Adam (though I haven't yet been able to find where a reliable source -- i.e., not some Twitter rando -- actually comes right out and says so). Great news for his fans.

That's it? That's not enough for me.

Welp,
it's confirmed. The brief moment is all over Twitter, thanks to audience members and their phones.
I stumbled on coverage of the Black Adam premiere and had it on in the background and the hosts and nearly every star they interviewed mention this
"epic surprise cameo"
over and over so it's gotta be the worst kept secret ever at this point. Rock can't shut up about it.

I wonder if thats a new suit with brighter colors, or just the last Cavil Superman suit without the Snyder filter applied and thats what it looks like without the filter.

Regardless I'm more then ready to see Cavil play a version of Superman who isn't a broody, murderous a-hole, I think he can pull it off if given half a chance, so hopefully he gets that chance.

I disagree with everything you said.

So you hope he does play a broody, murderous a-hole?

Kidding, kidding, I'm kidding.

I'm actually feeling more positive/excited about this than I expected. Guess I prefer any big-screen Superman over none at all.

And hey, if Cavill gets a full-on Man of Steel 2, maybe Amy Adams will return as Lois Lane. Now that would be some truly awesome news.
ETA: Crap, maybe I should have spoiler-tagged this? I mean, the fact of it, if not the details, is pretty much everywhere at this point. Anyway, belatedly tagged just in case.

It was very all encompassing 'everything'. :P

Interesting how this information got leaked so soon after hearing reports the opening weekend financial projects were less than stellar".

I'm really looking forward to the Black Adam movie because of the Justice Society but I have to be honest, the big spoiler-covered event... isn't all that thrilling to me.

Primarily because I'm not sanguine on setting up Black Adam vs Superman - it should always be Black Adam vs Captain Marvel (or Billy + the JSA) first. Unless this is setting up Adam beating Clark and Clark has to call Billy for help.

I'm very happy that Cavill's coming back as Clark in general, and hopefully Amy Adams will return as well.
