Yeah but that’s not really a Batman movie.
No, but after the failure of Justice League( which was partially WB's fault for pushing that film too soon) the studio got cold feet on making every movie be a part of the same universe. They had far more success when Batman was a standalone onto itself and directors could put their own spins on the character without being forced into a box because of a shared universe. And after the success of the Joker movie(which I never thought would work without Batman in it) I don't see them moving away from that.
If you want a Batman movie where other heroes exist you pretty much have that with Batman vs Superman. Yeah, Superman is in it a lot,(as is Wonder Woman) but if you want a movie where other heroes exist then that means sharing screen time.

I actually want more Superman. I prefer Batman when he teams up with other heroes like him. Probably why Superman/Batman is one of my favourite comic book series
I actually enjoyed the Snyder cut quite a bit. I really liked the "excess". I wouldn't have enjoyed it in the movie theatre, but watching it via streaming when I could view an hour or so at a time, it felt like a mini-series. It was layered and nuanced. I really felt that I knew the characters by the end of the story--and that a movie with a relatively new set of characters deserved that.
As for Suicide Squad, I completely agree with you. But I am thoroughly enjoying the Peacemaker series after six episodes that I've watched over four weeks on Friday nights.
That's not even close to being true. And I've read a decent selection from the era to which you are referring.
Furthermore, and it does not support your statement which is blatantly wrong:
I am so tired of the argument that the character needs to be close to the original 30s version when there are more three quarters of a century of stories after that. There are many versions of Batman.
All some people are saying is they want to see something different than the darkest version from the nineties and early 00s.
Personally, I would love to see the 70s and early 80s version--which has never been seen on screen before.

I wouldn’t mind if someone put the West Batman, the Kilmer Batman and, if he is detective Batman, Pattinson Batman in a blender and we got a part grounded, fully deputised agent of the law, greatest detective who has to handle cases which are too much for your day to day beat cop.
Sure it has, in Batman: The Animated Series (and Mask of the Phantasm, if you're specifying the feature screen). It just hasn't been seen in live action, which is not the same thing.
But yes, I agree, it's time the pendulum swung back to a more upbeat screen version of Batman. Not a campy version -- Schumacher tried that and it was a mess -- but just something focusing more on the positive side of what Batman does, the idea that he's channeled his grief into something constructive and selfless, dedicating his exceptional abilities and resources to protecting others from the same grief.
I read The Long Halloween recently, and I really don't get what people see in it. I thought it was terrible, an incredibly decompressed narrative with very little story per issue, instead prioritizing the art, which I found quite ugly.
Anyway, the Nolan films already drew heavily on ideas from TLH. I would've preferred a new filmmaker's take on Batman in a new universe to be more distinct from what we've already had.
Right now I think that a lot of the focus in the trailers/teasers/tv spots is on the action and violence. I mean, it draws in crowds.
I actually like approach to The Batman in this movie (from what we've seen sofar), and the general vibe we're seeing, but I also understand it's not to everyone's taste.

Alot of people keep asking me to watch Deadpool and I still haven't. I've seen clips but it's just too much for me like " Suicide Squad" and "Peacemaker"
The violence, one liners and gags just take me out of the moment. There's only so many times you can watch someone blow someone's head off(Peacemaker clips I've seen) and utter the F word that you get desensitized by it
I have pretty much the same reaction to the Deadpool movies as The Suicide Squad -- there's a fair amount of enjoyable humor and cleverness, but alongside more crass and violent humor that isn't my cup of tea.
