DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

"The Illuminerdi" (which has been on the money with several previous scoops) is reporting that Grant Gustin's TV Flash will have a cameo in Ezra Miller's Flash movie:

Not a huge surprise, if true: Warner execs actually approached Arrowverse producers with Miller's cameo in the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" -- which seemed likely to be setting up a mirror of the scene in the DCEU movie, particularly given its multiversal premise.

(Still waiting for the only Flash movie news I really care about: a costume reveal for Supergirl.)

Muschietti has shared a look at Flash’s suit from the movie https://www.instagram.com/p/CQGuXYzBPxt/?utm_medium=copy_link

I saw that reposted on a Flash fan site and was a little suspicious because I had never heard of “The Illuminerdi” before. Good to hear they have a good reputation.Still you are right - this was largely inevitable it will be interesting how much leaks before this thing comes out.

With so many DC films (and tv shows) in production now it will be easier to slot those actors to cameo in this movie. Compared to having to pull them from other work with other studios. Also easier to try and hide the reason a person is filming in costume... when they already are for their main gig.

That seems pretty plausible, since we already had Ezra Miller in Crisis on Infinite Earths, and The Flash movie is dealing with the multiverse.

I know they kind of winked at it in Crisis, but I hope the strait-up do the Spider-Man meme.

I've kind of wondered if they'd just cut the exact same scene into the movie.

Possibly, though the scene in "Crisis" has a reference to Victor, and Fisher's planned appearance in the Flash movie apparently isn't happening anymore. Though the line is sufficiently vague ("I told Victor this was possible") that it could still work as a throwaway even without an appearance by Cyborg.

It seems like it still has the industrial look of what established in JL, only a bit streamlined. Miller already had the far-and-away best Flash costume ever designed for an adaptation, so if the changes are not too drastic, that will be fine.

Anecdotally to be sure, but not according to anyone I ever discussed the movie with in the comic shops. His costume was made fun of more than anything else in fact.

I thought I remember Snyder saying the costume in the JL movie was eventually meant to be streamlined and evolve into something sleeker and nicer for future movies. Which I do hope so, though all that unnecessary detailing from the supplied image is still a bit much since for some dumb reason, over designing and over texturing everything is the way things are now for superhero costumes.

People said the same when Raimi's Spider-Man had the armor-like texture on his costume, but it made sense to wear something a bit more durable than a spandex or cotton-based costume. The Raimi Spider-Man suit still holds up in 2021.

Absolutely, though I don't recall anybody calling it armor-like ever (the way it easily shredded while fighting really argues the contrary, actually).
Again, with the taking texture too far, I recall the costume in the first Andrew Garfield movie being mocked for looking like a red and blue basketball.

In my opinion The Raimi Spider-Man is the best Spiderman movie suit
