DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

You mean it's difficult HERE or online. Sure. But, clearly there are a sizable number of people. Because you don't know them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

I also mean in the real world. I cannot count a single soul amongst all of the film goers I know (or varying ages & tastes) who love or even like the Transformers movies.

Is that what this is about? Because others don't like what you like?

Again, that's the MCU defender's issue, as they cannot simply enjoy what they enjoy and let it be. Its as if they are seeking some form of universal praise about that franchise, even in DCEU, Nolan Batman or similar threads.

Ask yourself why.

At a certain point, does it matter? If you like something, great! But, it takes two to tango, you're as much a part of it as them.

So, let them defend it.

No one is stopping them, yet anytime anyone states their enjoyment of a DCEU film, in come the usual suspects, going on and on (as you see in this thread, for one example) about Snyder/"too dark"/"ashamed"/"wrong" and on and on (e.g., Ovation's observation on the criticism of fans who enjoy Snyder's film). Would you think to ask that group to let DC fans defend or more to the point, appreciate the DCEU films?

But, your hands aren't so clean. You keep demeaning the MCU films as "Saturday Morning Cartoons," that doesn't sound like someone who sees there are different ways to create fantasy.

Hit the brakes. I'm on record as being a big fan of the MCU's Captain America films (and his appearances in general)--The Winter Soldier being the best of that franchise, and discuss good points about other films (Captain Marvel and Endgame most recently) which is a far different situation from those who rail against the entire DECU as if Snyder and/or WB kicked them in a sensitive spot with a steel-spiked boot or ruined their childhood.

If they wish to believe the MCU is the "best ever," its their choice, but that does not require the weekly dissertation on why the DCEU is the worst thing since smallpox. That's a strange display of obsessive axe grinding or something else going on..

Re: Transformers... what do you want? All the people who participated in the 1 billion dollar box office to introduce themselves to you? It was an incredibly successful and popular series of films, objectively. I don’t know why you need people around you to confirm this. Doesn’t the box office alone show there was an incredible appetite for the franchise? Like MiB’s shows there wasn’t?

As far the rest: meh. I don’t feel the need to keep repeating myself. But I get it, you feel attacked for liking something others don’t. Ok. I understand. But maybe it’s not on them alone. Sometimes it’s on us to walk away from a situation that makes us feel bad. At least it’s something relatively unimportant like movies.

The Transformers fanbase is the very general public, as we'd call them. To make an office culture analogy, if us Star Trek fans are engineers, Transformers fans would be the sales people.

@TREK_GOD_1, the only reason I defend the MCU as often as I do is because it are one of my absolute favorite franchises ever, and I get really tired of you attacking them every fucking time someone brings them up. Not only do you attack them, but you do it in a way that seems, to me at last, very insulting to those of us who do like them, like you think that anybody who does like them is an immature idiot.
And you have been doing the same thing with the DCEU movies when people bring them up, so I don't think it's fair to be getting pissed at us for defending the MCU movies.

Nope. This thread alone has more than one member doing that, and again, its only those members damning the entire DCEU/Snyder. No member does that to the MCU.

Er, you're forgetting all the years the Nolanites went out of their way to rip into every single MCU movie and how they kept saying the BvS would destroy every MCU film past present and future. Fortunately after that crashed and burned they got a much deserved humbling.

For fuck's sake, still?!

Enough with lies. I've reviewed enough of the MCU here and posted what I like about them to disprove your bullshit. But that does not excuse the shit you--and your like-minded members--post about the DCEU.

You feeling like "an immature idiot" is all on you, since no one has referred to you as anything of the sort. That has nothing to do with my assessment that many of the MCU films playing like Power Rangers episodes. Unlike you (and the worst offenders on this board), I don't damn the entire MCU, while you (and those worst offenders again) have entered thread after thread trying to tear down anything about the DCEU--even in threads where they are not a subject at all. So, spare the world the victim act, because one--you are not a victim and two, we're talking about a film series, not real life. No one should need to explain that to anyone.

What's worse, is that one of you is such a bottom scraper that you accused the Academy of only awarding Ledger an Oscar only because he died, as if his work (and by extension the film) could not possibly have earned the votes because it truly deserved it. Absolutely despicable. This member's aggressive defense of the MCU / hatred of any DC film (DCEU or not) being celebrated in way the MCU is not (or so he thinks) is such a mind f*ck to him, that he will post anything in his unending attempt to tear down DC films, even to the point of disrespecting the dead.

That's what you have as one of your champions.

Poster's opinions represent only that single poster's opinions. Nobody is a champion for anyone.

Also, I strongly disagree with that opinion about Heath Ledger, but it's not uncommon. You are acting like he made it up right here on this board. It's something you will see all over Twitter and other places on the web.

Seriously, would you all kindly grow up, stop that "but they started it" routine, quit taking unkind opinions about the films and\or film universes you like as personal attacks on you, and return to discuss these movies like adults?! That would be great.

Sorry, I was not intentionally lying, and if it seemed that way to you then I really do sincely apologize, it was not my intent at all. All I was trying to do was explain why I have responded to your posts the way I have, and if there were posts or things I forgot about, then I once again apologize.
I was just hoping that maybe once you saw how your posts were perceived by others you might try and tone things down a bit.
And one other thing, I actually do like most of the DCEU movies, I just much, much prefer the MCU.

Post not poster, man. This is becoming incredibly personal and heated and isn't going to benefit anyone at all.

I'm sorry, but...
:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Look it's pretty clear in the bible...

1 “I am the MCU your God, who brought you out of the land of uneven comic book adaptations, out of the house of Universal attempts to make a Hulk movie. You shall have no other Franchises before Me.

:shrug:That settle's that.

Dude, they are just movies. Why is your ego so tied up with whether or not someone likes a DCEU movie?

Dude, they are just movies (I said as much a few posts back). Why are certain MCU fans so pissed off/defensive over any member's critical opinion of parts of the franchise?

As much as I love the MCU Cap films, there's others--some self-identified MCU fans--who (for examples I've heard) think The First Avenger "sucked," was "boring" or "not worth revisiting" or that The Winter Soldier was "overrated" or "out of place" in the MCU. Pretty much tossing them over their shoulders, and I've debated that, yet in the end, that never stops my enjoyment of those movies. Same with Superman (1978); I've noticed a certain part of the superhero film fanbase do not think its any sort of a classic, while others tear the Donner film a new one at every turn, thinking its pretty much an awful film, but their very negative opinions of it did not derail my love for that film.

You seem to be making a case that it’s always someone else. Why are you taking people’s defensiveness so personally? Why do you take people’s criticisms of the DCEU so personally? What is your role in it?
