DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I'd say the box office success of Wonder Woman and Black Panther were a bigger influence.
After all, Suicide Squad was a big hit in the Latino community in no small part due to El Diablo, so I think the suits are hoping a first big budget Latino superhero movie will do to the Latino market the same thing that WW and BP did to women and black people, namely get lots of butts in seats.

That's certainly a nice thought. But I was thinking in terms of the timing. I have the impression that a Blue Beetle movie has been in development limbo at Warner Bros. for years (wasn't Berlanti working on a BB/Booster Gold project at some point?). So maybe Venom's success was the extra push that WB needed to move this marginally similar project out of limbo.

As I already said, it was the 1986 Who's Who that established Amazonia's location for the first time. I never said it was attributed to All-Star #8. This is a long-running work of serial fiction, so naturally the details accreted over decades. Which is my whole point -- that DC has always portrayed the Amazons as a separate culture that was conquered by the Greeks, just as the original myths did.
Have they? The culture of the DC Amazons was already Greek when Heracles shows up. They were already worshiping Greek Gods and using Greek clothing and architecture. Greek on Greek violence was not unheard of. (The Peloponnesian Wars).

Blue Beetle definitely has a lot of potential. I wonder if they'll work Ted Kord into it, or if it'll be just Jaime?

According to CBR, Deadline recently mentioned a potential Zatanna movie in an article about female superheroes.
I found the quote in the original article, and it's not much, but I believe it is the first we've hard a Zatanna solo movie mentioned as even a possibility.

I'm not surprised. They seem to be going down the list of DC heroes I really like, ruining them one at a time, so it was about time Zatanna was brought up. I can't wait until they hire Adam Sandler as screenwriter and to play Zatanna, and then hire someone like Brett Ratner to direct :shifty:

Thinking about it, that sarcastic comment about casting is still better then who they actually hired to make and act in "Shazam" :sigh:

The hilarious thing, you are often brought up in the offices. The whole plan really is about how to ruin the things you love. Warners has it out for you.

Lol. I’m actually super excited for Shazam. It’ll be the first DC property I can actually bring my kid to see.

I’m sure, even though you hate it, will still watch it. Zeus knows why, but you’ll watch it.

I was being a bit sarcastic, obviously the fact that almost all of my favorite DC heroes are getting destroyed by the movies (outside of Power Girl, and Wonder Woman obviously) is a coincidence.

I've watched Fant4stic multiple times, so I can handle a lot. Hell, I own Fant4stic, Batman v superman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ang Lee's Hulk, Blade Trinity and other shitty superhero movies. I'll definitely watch Shazam, when I can do so without monetarily supporting Warner Brothers (I really love the public library, it lets me easily watch so much crap without supporting the assholes who make it).

The real Captain Marvel is my favorite superhero from any company, so I'll definitely watch the shitty movie, if for no other reason then it stops people from whining that I must have no opinion of something until I watch every last millisecond of it. Plus, I'm always curious to see how a character/property gets destroyed, and I especially want to see whether Shazam or Marvel's Captain Marvel is a bigger "fuck you" to the source material and the fans.

To be fair to DC movies, Aquaman looks awesome, and even though Wonder Woman 1984 cast a talentless hack as Cheetah, at least Gal Gadot will still be great as the title character. Even Marvel only had one good movie this year and will only have one good movie next year, so DC is still doing better then it was under Snyder, even if the people in charge of Dc generally hate the source material almost as much as the people making the current Spider-Man and Marvel's Captain Marvel movies.

I wasn’t. I was on the lot last week. Your name is whispered in the hallways. There is an active campaign. They are salting the Earth of all of your favorite characters so they will never be made again.

Tl;dr. I get that you can “handle it,” it’s a movie not torture, but why? I know I’ve asked you this question before, but why waste your time on something you will hate? Do you have nothing better to do? Something that makes you happy?

Movies about superheroes I like make me happy. If they're going to destroy them, I'm going to watch and criticize. Shit deserves to get taken down, and combine that with my morbid curiosity and I'm generally pretty motivated to watch bad superhero movies. The only exception I've made is Logan, which is so vile I still haven't brought myself to watch it because while I like Wolverine, I don't like the FOX version all that much solo, not enough to watch such a bad film at least. The same thing with Venom, although I might get bored enough to watch it eventually.

What about the time travel tech to remove them from existence?
