DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Cockrum/Grell-era costumes for all? The movie could usher in its very own '70s sexual retro-lution. :)

Agreed that Brainy is pretty essential. Plus, thanks to Jesse Rath's terrific tenure in the role on Supergirl, he may actually be the Legionnaire with the most non-comics exposure at this point.

Why all of them, of course. It’s the Legion, after all. Anything less would be insulting. (Says the guy whose first purchase of a comic book with his own money was an issue of Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes drawn by Mike Grell in the summer of 1973).
I don't think any movie could afford to do all... jeez, how many ARE there?

Would that be like trying to include ever X-Man in a Marvel movie?

You could always start with the standard "Legion origin" story, in which Imra, Garth, and Rokk save R. J. Brande's life, leading to the founding of the Legion, and build out from there. It's old news to Legion comics fans, but would be brand-new to a more general audience. But maybe a better approach would be something like Supervisor 194 suggests above, and use Clark as the audience's point-of-entry to a fully-formed Legion (which was, of course, how they were first introduced in the comics). And ideally, the film would earn sequels that could expand on the first.

DC did something like this a few years back when they re-introduced the original Legion. They had an RJ Brande origin story with the original three and a few others being the founding members. I don't remember the details, but those few others may have been those members from the early LSH appearances--which would totally work. And it could easily be combined with a Superboy story--especially if Garth, Imra, and Rokk had to go back to the past to get Clark while the other members were working on the problem in the future. Or maybe combine the story with Mon-El's 20th century origin. Regardless--it is time the Legion had a live action movie.

This is just the tip of the Legion iceberg

We could have a movie introduce the core and then a series tied directly to it.
I like this solution. It's true (as I mentioned above) that it would be hard to do a Legion movie in two hours, but I envision the kind of budget and immersive visuals only a major feature film can bring. I'm thinking about how Abrams's Star Trek movies brought the 23rd century to life with a you-are-there richness I had never experienced before. That's what I want for our live-action introduction to the Legion's 31st century.
