Shazam, not Flash.
So.....Is anybody planning on going to the theater to watch Shazam! Fury of the Gods?
I’ll probably go with my son. Plus, it has Helen Mirren. I rarely miss a movie with her in it.
This is going to be wait until home rental for me unless it people have really excellent things to say about it.
As much as I loved the first Shazam!, I'm still a little COVID-cautious about going to the theater.
But I think The Flash will finally override that trepidation. Can't wait a minute longer than necessary to see our new Supergirl.

Cinema means people. People suck. So no.
You could always rent the theater for the night.
I'm excited about seeing the film but I don't know if I'll catch it in theaters. If I have the time, I will but I won't go too out of the way for it.

Maybe. I love Helen and Lucy, but I might wait for streaming. Unless you folks start saying it's really good.
Even if I were still willing to go to theaters, this is one I'd wait to see on HBO Max. The first film was okay, but flawed, making Shazam too irresponsible with his powers (to the point of literal criminality and reckless endangerment of lives) for too long before belatedly giving him a hero arc. And I found Zachary Levi more obnoxious than amusing.
I'm also mildly disappointed that they didn't pay off the Mister Mind tease from the first film's post-credits scene. Not that I'm a fan of the character, but it would've been interesting to see them go all in with such an absurd villain.

I really enjoyed the first one, and I'm a huge fan of Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren, and Lucy Liu, so this is definitely one I plan to see in theaters. I might even go by myself if I can't convince my mom to come with me. That's something I very, very rarely do. I think The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Batman are the only other times I did that. She might actually come though, she didn't see totally disgusted by the trailers.

I will admit, if I really want to see something, Sunday afternoon is usually my favorite time. For reasons you stated.
