DC launching digital service with Titans and Young Justice

I had to google her to remind me who she is and who she played. Yeah, she did a good on Gotham.

I'm a huge fan of Reed from both Gotham and Teen Wolf, so her casting is a big plus for me, but I'm not familiar with Sten.

Oh boy.

There’ve been a few attempts at Swamp Thing as movies. What can you do with the TV series and the resources available in 2018 to really do it right?

This is one, when you talked earlier about the rating for The Nun, we always set out to make Swamp Thing as hard R as we could and go graphic with the violence, with the adult themes and make it as scary as possible. Because we’re doing it through the DC streaming service, they really pushed us, although they didn’t have to push hard, for us to go as extreme as we could. We really took our inspiration from the Alan Moore run in Swamp Thing, this landmark I think run. Fans of that series will know it gets pretty weird and extreme and scary. We really wanted to live up to that standard that Moore set up back in the ‘80s. Then of course it allows us, Swamp Thing himself looks incredible what Justin Raleigh and the guys over at Fractured are doing with the suit. So it’s going to look amazing and less of the “man in suit” that you’ve seen in the movie and the other TV show.

But it is still a suit?

There is a physical costume, yes.

Will Swamp thing be pulling people's limbs off?

It's been a minute sinceI read Moore's Swamp Thing, but yeah, there were some pretty gruesome parts to it. Remember, it caused DC to put a "Mature Readers" label on a comic for the first time.

I got the 400+ collection of the Scott Snyder New 52 run of Swamp Thing and even that looked pretty gory and disturbing for a non-mature readers book.

I'm still baffled that they actually made a Swamp Thing cartoon for kids back in the early '90s. Apparently it didn't last long, but I remember having some of the toys.

They made a bunch of kids' cartoons in the '80s and '90s out of movies inappropriate for children, including Rambo, RoboCop, Highlander, and Police Academy. I think there were even tentative plans for an Aliens cartoon, but someone came to their senses that time.

I think there was only 5 episodes of that Swamp Thing cartoon produced. It there were action figures from Kenner and other tie ins so it seemed to have a larger presence than it did.

I am not sure if it has been mentioned yet. But any Swamp Thing productions from the 80s and 90s are one of the few DC adaptations that are unlikely to appear on this DC streaming channel. Neither the two films, the live action series or the cartoon was produced or ever released by Warner Bros. Same used to be true of the Supergirl movie and the Superboy tv series. But Warner Bros acquired all rights to those from Ilya Salkind before Superman Returns was released.

Wow, they're way off-base about Godzilla: The Series, which in my experience is much more highly regarded by Godzilla fans (myself included) than the Tri-Star movie it's a sequel to. They're also slightly off-base about the second season of Bill & Ted -- the live-action TV series that the voice cast came from was filmed before the animated season 2, but not aired until a year after it.

The Beetlejuice animated series was my introduction to the characters. By the time I finally saw the movie, I was surprised that Betelgeuse was actually the villain, that his relationship to Lydia was that of a sexual predator rather than the crude but caring best friend of the cartoon's preteen Lydia. Still, the show was a great deal of fun. I never liked the grossout humor, but its nonstop punning was right up my alley.

None of their shows really excite me at the moment. Hopefully if this service succeeds, they’ll bring others.
