Have you ever tried to tell a grown woman that what she is wearing is unacceptable? That she is showing too much flesh, and it's disgusting that any one can see her knickers easily if she tried to pick up a quarter she'd dropped?
(Which is what Greg said about Frank's art.)
The problem with this "situation" is that Greg is Wonder Woman right now, it's his brain doing all her thinking, so it should be Greg's universe to shape as he sees fit. Diana is a symbol of pride, strength and integrity... Then along comes Frank Cho putting smutty sexual thoughts in the readers pants about Greg (Greg is Wonder Woman remember?) which is a counteragent to Greg's mission to preach, I'm guessing, some off colour version of feminism.

The problem here is that Frank, until he left, is Wonder Woman too.
I look at Fank's art on those two covers and I don't see a sex kitten stripper (strippers work hard, 14 hours a night dancing in platform heels, don't #### with strippers.), I see Xena Warrior Princess. Frank Cho's Wonder Woman, to me looks like she is about to kill 40 people, so I have no idea what these claims of depravity are about coming from Greg Rucka's camp.

Batman #3. The mystery of Gotham and Gotham Girl deepens -- we find out who they are, but not how they gained their near-Kryptonian powers. Otherwise, very little happens here, except for the final page cliffhanger.
Superman #3. What happens to Krypto is disturbing, but the "out" is obvious if you pay attention to the Eradicator's dialogue. Like Batman, not a lot happens here, which is disappointing after two solid issues.
I'm seeing a recurring theme with the pre-52 Superman across the titles, one that I don't like -- he impulsively gets into fights with foes he assumes are enemies without trying to understand all the details. In Action, he picked a fight with Luther for no reason. Here, he immediately launches into an attack on the Eradicator. Yes, he has past experience with Luther and the Eradicator, but that's experience from a different timeline that may not apply here. (And, arguably, in Luther's case, it doesn't apply at all.) Given his deeper life experience, compared to his New 52 counterpart, this is uncharacteristic. Superman shouldn't be thinking with his fists. That's not who Superman is.

^^ Superman isn't a newcomer to New 52 Earth. It's been his home for 10 years. He's studied everything from behind the scenes for a decade. He knows that Lex is a villain completely unworthy of the El family shield. And as to the Eradicator, Superman's instincts (informed by a lifetime of experience) were correct as well.

I liked Superman #3 pretty well. I only know Eradicator as a superhero who uses superman's symbol and has similar powers, so I'm confused as to why Superman would assume he was a threat right off the bat (was the character a villain at some point pre-Flashpoint?). Also, I'm 99% sure that people's "life force" doesn't go to the Phantom Zone, but their actual physical bodies (which then sometimes become ghostly until they're released).
Anyway, I barely knew anything about the old Eradicator, so I'm not too annoyed that this version seems to be an "in-name-only" version. He's not exactly a unique villain, but the writing was decent and I'm interested in seeing where it goes from here. Eradicator started as an A.I. that was designed to house and carry on Krypton's culture past the time of its destruction. The problem is that it wanted to remake earth in Krypton's image and it even altered Superman's mind to make him more cold and alien like the people of Krypton. Superman managed to shake it off and retain his humanity, but it was pretty startling to him how easy he almost threw away his family and everything he loved.
The Superman Animated Series version of Brainiac was essentially a merger of the Eradictor character with the more traditional Brainiac.

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey Rebirth was bad. Just more of the "Batgirl of Burnside" stuff that I already loathe, but this time with the second rate Dazzler version of Black Canary and a really boring version of Huntress tagging along. I'll be giving the series a skip.

Well, yes, but that was 20 years ago. In the early 2000's when they last used him extensively, that part was forgotten. I don't remember it being brought up in his last appearances in the "Reign of the Doomsdays" storyline right before the New 52 hit.
Even then, there was doubt cast on that. The Eradicator 3 issue mini-series tried to explain that the Eradicator was just latching onto others, as it had done before (it started out as an alien artifact that the Kryptonians reprogrammed). I don't know if they ever resolved it, fully, but as I said, it was pretty much dropped after that.

In fact, I will probably pay for the Marvel Unlimited subscription from now on.

I am a fat white man in his forties. But as an adult I make my budget and keep to it. Image and IDW now benefit from that commitment.
And KAT may be gone but I'm sure there is some way to read the stories and you'll know when I comment on them.

The words in the article explain that there is an ongoing feud between Greg Rucka and Frank Cho. Frank has done 6 alternate covers for the book Greg was writing, and Greg had complained about every cover as too graphic or hypersexualized.
In Frank's defence he had not designed an alternate pornographic Wonder Woman outfit (he claims), Cho was drawing the same Wonder Woman as the lad drawing the insides of the book (Liam Sharpe) it's just unfortunate that when Frank Cho draws a Woman, she is too beautiful, and too sexy, so some one must be punished.
Liam said this in the advert to issue 1 before this hoo har started...
Greg's point of view is fine: I don't want people jerking off to my important comics about empowerment. Smut dilutes my message that women are valuable as people. (Not a quote. Obviously an exageration. Think Preacher from Footloose.)
Greg didn't hire Frank, and since he is the alternate cover artists, his covers are disconnected from the actual story and could be about any random thought that comes into Frank's brain, which is part of the reason Cho is angered that a writer has been given the powers of an editor to censor his vision without his permission or approval.
Oh, four of these books haven't come out yet.

To sum up, Frank doesn't like being called an asshole, and Greg thinks that artists should know their place, in his shadow.
if Wonder Woman was a real person, Greg Rucka would be "body Shaming her" right now, but she isn't, so he isn't. Meanwhile Frank Cho is being the same person and artist that he's always been for 20 years.

Last time someone complained about Frank's hypersexuality (I swear Emilia is in my brain. GET OUT!) he responded with a line of joke covers lampooning himself to calm the room down, and prove that he is an artist and not a pornographer. If Rucka had complained and complained about the first 5 covers, then that 5th of an inch of panties on cover 6, was obviously put there as a threat, a challenge, a joke or a f###k you Greg Rucka.
Sometimes a lacy slip is just a lacy slip, but this time, I think not.
Agreed that its all office politics, because I am still convinced it is just her old school spandex uniform under the battle armor.... moving on....
There are a couple decent KAT mirrors that are still operating business as usual, but with some more annoying popups. There are also a couple that look like KAT but do not work at all, so be careful, but they are definitely still out there, and updated to the current week.
If I get to a point where I'm buying individual issues, I don't see this affecting my purchases. It is annoying, but it's only a dollar and I'm not going to buying a ton of issues, so I'm not to mad.
