DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

That was not my intent at all, it was more of just a random thought because I can't imagine a cheerful, happy go lucky person making movies as dark and moody as his tend to be.
The thing is, while I’m not especially a fan of his (I do like some his movies a lot and most of them at least somewhat) he actually does come across as a really nice guy in interviews etc, even if he’s saying things I don’t agree with.

Well, one can be both cheerful and self-impressed.* Snyder thinks he makes important movies with Something to Say.

That's nice and all, but you have to learn the assignment first. Three times out and he never got what his employers were paying him for.

I remain one of the ten people on Earth who both love the Watchmen graphic novel and think Snyder did a good adaptation.

*I've only mastered the latter.

I liked Watchmen, but I did see the extended version. Was it a different entity than the original? Of course it was, but as a movie it held together very well. Would I like to see a more faithful version of the Watchmen series? Yes, I would. I also really liked the HBO series from a few years back.

Reportedly the animated version that came out last year is highly faithful aside from what minimal format changes were necessary to adapt it to its medium. I haven't seen it yet, though.

I'm probably one of the few people who hates Watchmen the graphic novel.*

...I'm guessing this is the wrong crowd to admit that to.

*...while also loving Watchmen the miniseries.

Robert Pattinson is being eyed for the villain role in Dune 3 according to the Hollywood Reporter. IF he does take the role then there's no chance he could start filming The Batman part II this year...

The end of the world vibe that Snyder brought to Watchmen was perfect. Unfortunately, that same end of the world vibe doesn’t work so well with Superman.

I agree. I also thought the "dark night detective" vibes Snyder bought to Batman's solo scenes in BvS were handled well. But that vibe is not a Superman vibe at all, even in comics written by Moore and Miller.
