DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

I suspect Lillard could be playing Plastic Man. He's a good fit, and it will give a future iteration of The Terrifics its third canon member, following Mr. Terrific and Metamorpho.

Not familiar with them but that's a great team now.

All I know about Plastic Man is what I saw from a single cover in a comic catalog as a kid and thinking "A DC knock-off!"

Yes, I know he predates Mr. Fantastic but I didn't know that at the time.

Its weird to me how The Batman II might be the upcoming DC movie I'm most interested in. The Batman should have been a movie I couldn't stand but, while not flawless (I still wish Riddler was less Jigsaw-ish), I ended up liking the film a lot and I think winter (or at least a section in winter) is an interesting setting. Although apparently the film isn't even in production yet, if they don't start soon Pattinson will be old enough to just be Frank Miller's Batman  Seriously though, I'm definitely interested in seeing the sequel, even if its probably a 2030 film at this point.

All of that said, I'm still not watching Penguin:shifty:

Richson would a be good choice for Bane.

It used to seem a little strange to me that DC has both the Plastic Man and The Elongated Man, but I guess if you can have multiple Bats, Supers, and Flashes it's not totally ridiculous to have two stretchy guys.

They used to be on separate Earths until Crisis. Quality comics characters became DC characters in the 60s after Elongated Man had already been around for a decade or so.

Marvel also has Kamala Khan, Groot and Apocalypse just off the top of my head, and there are definitely more I'm forgetting. These are just massive universes with thousands of super-powered characters. Overlap is inevitable.

Even outside of DC and Marvel, you have Stretch-Dude,,Elastigirl, and of course, Stretch Armstrong. Stretch powers are really just a variant of shapeshifting powers, so it's not surprising they are more common than just that one character.

As for The Terrifics, that was a really good book, kind of an attempt of a Fantastic Four for DC. And funny enough, the pendant to Reed Richards wasn't Plastic Man, but Mister Terrific.

I was talking about characters in the same universe having identical powers, not stretchy powers in general. Like I said before, I realized after a while that there are a tons of characters in the DCU with identical powers, so having two stretchy guys isn't really any different from all of the different Kryptonians, Flashes, Batmen, Green Lanters, archers, ect. Marvel has quite a few too.

The Quality characters came to DC in the 50s, though I think the Blackhawks were the only ones to get published at that time. Plas would be the next. The reason Elongated Man was created is because Julie Schwartz (editor of the Flash) didn't realize DC owned Plastic Man,

I'm now questioning my earlier statement because I own a copy of Brave and the Bold 123 that co-starred plastic man and Batman knows him from a previous encounter. Does anyone know when Plastic Man first appeared on DC Earth 1?
