Day One trailer - must see to believe!!!

That trailer just makes me want to rewatch the Truman Show.

Haha, same here. I had to listen to the end credits suite after I finished watching... and the last half of the trailer was just ridiculous because I kept seeing Jim Carrey standing at the door of the dome talking to Christof. I mean, I know trailers use music from other sources all the time, but that was so bloody obvious and a terrible fit if you're familiar with the movie at all.

I have to say, I really liked the premise of "Day One." Before I watched the trailer. Now that I've seen it, my expectations and interest have plummeted.

Just bring back Jericho! A modern day Civil War was such an interesting angle...and there were three or four decent actors in the mix for that one.

Also bring back Invasion. Poor show, ahead of its time. :(

Jericho had no ratings! It was cancelled, and then brought back after a grassroots campaign. And it still had no ratings! Reviews certainly weren't going to save the show, since critics were so disfavorable of it to start. Even somewhat positive reviews of the series, like this one at Slate, conclude that it is "just plain medicore."

To paraphrase your boy Anders on Galactica, "it's not coming back, accept it."

"Just plain mediocre" describes the first half of season 1. The second half of season 1, despite having lower ratings, began to show significantly more promise.

And season 2 can only be described as "seriously kickass." That season had about twice as much story in 7 episodes as the first season had in 22 (?).

The TV show isn't coming back, but a movie which pays off the Civil War II storyline would be just about perfect as a way to cap the whole thing off. It's one of those rare cases when a movie followup would actually work better than trying to revive the thing in TV format.

I will probably check it out. The I will buy the DVD set so I can see the 10 eps that will never air after it gets cancelled. Good or bad, this is most likely a Dead Show Walking.

Well I wasn't thinking about ratings so much as inherent potential. Quixotic, I know. :D

Well, this isnt an official trailer....far from it....It was cut together by one of the exec producers from the Pilot for network viewing in order to get picked up for series I believe. Hence the lazy vis fx, Truman show music and overly simplistic message - They are showing it to Network executives after all. ;)

Is that supposed to make it right?

It looked like those giant things were statues almost...though of course it was very hard to make out from that video.

Eh.. not great but not horrible... every time I see trailers like this I think about how absolutely HORRID the first year of Star trek TNG is and say I'll check it out and see how it goes....

If you think of it as being designed for the morons who head up networks, then...no.

Oh well, the creative team has Javier Grillo-Marxwauch (I really did spell that wrong), the guy who created/produced The Middleman, so I'll give it a shot based on that alone, because the Middleman was fantastic, infact, one could almost say it was sheer elegance in its simplicity...

it will most likely suck and last a number of seasons or be a great show and get cancelled after the 1st season
