I laughed at this part...Ryan was the first guest to take the stage on the morning of Saturday, August 7th and was almost immediately surprised by former co-star Garrett Wang (Harry Kim), who rushed onto the stage to give her a hug. “The last time I surprised someone on stage it was Kate Mulgrew, and I was wearing a fake mustache and I almost got killed by Creation security,” Wang quipped.

I also liked Frakes' opinion of the finale of Enterprise.

"Where indeed" was the valentine?:(

I found this comment by Garrett Wang very interesting:

Wang admitted he found the human characters on the show to be somewhat frustrating to play. “We were asked to downplay the human characters, to be really two dimensional [because it was] thee only way to make the aliens look real,” he said. “I thought the human characters needed to be rougher and tougher. I thought [that request] was incorrect, honestly.” He added that it was difficult to “add emotion to characters when it was frowned upon by the producers.”

That's interesting of him to say. I wonder exactly how accurate it was?
I think I recall Kate saying something similar in how somethings required her to overact to make fictional things come accross as real while underplaying others. Seven & the Doc. did have larger than life personalities, even Neelix to some degree. Kes was the only one that was kinda subdued.

I always considered Lien to just be a subdued actress, though.
Yeah, I guess you're right.
I guess that's why beyond the characters powers, I didn't warm up to her too much. I didn't see how the character would mature over time if at 2 she was already more mature than the adults around her. IMO Kes needed to be a little more exaggerated.

Yes, the way Lien portrayed Kes made her seem much more mature than she probably should have. Mature beyond her years?

Kate is ham. She over acts all the time. In that she and Bill Shatner have a lot in common. So, I think her saying that was probably just her covering. Ditto for Wang here.

He and Beltran were always wooden actors to me. Coming up with an excuse would not surprise me at all since I'm pretty sure that Wang is young enough to be internet literate enough to read posts from places like here about his non-acting acting.

:guffaw:

Oh man, cut them to the quick!
Still, I can't argue with that either.

I thought that the Voyager cast was hilarious! I felt they got thier time cut short because of Shatner and Nemoy. I Wish I had known some of you were gonna be there... I would've loved to chit chat over $10 hot dogs and a pitcher of booze!

I love, nay, adore Kate, but I know where her faults lie, and you can't deny something so obvious.

Wang I'm not so in love with. Not. At. All.

vas2009, I wanted to go badly, but I couldn't afford it. However, I'm glad one of us got to go represent.

I didn't enter into the contest... there was this old women that I ended up talking to for like 2 hours we were waiting on Martha Hacketts autograph... who is super nice by the way... I did see the contest, My bun was a mixture of the french twist deal and third seasons "bump". I do have pics but not of the bun itself. I even lightened my eyewbrows and hair (the color took 3 days a total of 7 hours) and got Blue contacts for the costume. I am disapointed with the lack of volume I had I tried really hard to get my hair poofy... it just wasn't working. However, I was recognized as Cpt. Janeway and there were several admirers who asked for a photo... I also met a pretty good Chakotay.

I had planned to go, but had to cancel due to a competing engagement. :(

(I'm drowning my sorrow with a heavy dose of Mulgrew in Hartford in October. ;) )

Come back with LOTS of stories!

I wish I could but unfortunately, I can't go either.

Just like you, I have a previous engagement and it's rent/bill paying week. So my pockets are empty. :(

Luckily, I've meet them all before..........but it would have been nice to see them again, especially Lien because it was a real bad experence meeting her the first time.(it was her first ever Con.) I heard she's gotten better at doing them, so I'd like to see how she is now. Ryan & Philips are so wonderful to meet because like Picardo, they have an awesome sense of humor and are great at how that play off the audience.
