David Warner

I love that guy.

Too bad every time he apperared in Star Trek he was wearing heavy alien makeup (that 5-light Cardassian), too restrained and collected (Gorkon) or had nothing to do all movie (Star Trek V).

But he is great.

He almost played a 4th role. Ira Behr wanted him to play Akorem Laan (the "other emissary") in "Accession" but he was on vacation and his wife convinced him not to.

They could have brought him into Generations and Malcolm McDowell could have chased him all over Veridian III.

A small role, but he nails it as Lovejoy in "Titanic"

Now, there is a thought! How are you feeling, by the way, Melakon? If I may ask.

Physically? Still pain and weakness, getting up still hurts, but severity may be easing. Mentally? Same old me.

But I'd rather not discuss it up here.

Apologies, and understood. Glad for the easing.

Guest starring Mary Steenburgen! That could've been her third time travel movie!

Holy crap, that's it! The Nexus is the time machine effect. Soran looks desperate because David Warner was also on the Lakul, and has the key to unlock the Nexus. Mary Steenburgen is on there as well, since Whoopi Goldberg had a scheduling conflict. Nicholas Meyer directs because he gets script approval.

I think the character in Star Trek V should have had a more prominent role, to better use Mr. Warner's acting talents. (in addition to lots of other stuff that should have been changed about that movie)

Agreed. Brazenly wasting David Warner is among the movie's many crimes.

Thank goodness he got meatier roles in TUC and TNG.

I´ll never forget Gul Madred :cardie:. Last time I "met/saw" him was in "The Worst of both Worlds", but he took fuller effect on-screen. Master of Torture :cardie:.

He was also in a first season episode of Babylon 5, and played Jor-El, Superman's dad n a first season episode of Lois & Clark.

The guy was everywhere.

He was also one of the tons of Star Trek performers who was heard in "Gargoyles". (He played the evil Archmage).

There's a good trivia question lurking there:

"Which actor has played a Klingon, a Cardassian AND a Kryptonian onscreen?"

Can't think of anybody else that fits! :)

I had the good fortune to meet him in Wrexham Comic-con last year. He was a real gent while I babbled my appreciation of his long career at him!
