David R. George III' s two 2012 novels

Cool, I'm glad to know will get more of the post-Destiny arc next year. Anyone have any idea about Mack's trilogy?

Well, between Christopher and DRG we are getting at least three Typhon Pact novels next year. Although DRG did say he wasn't sure if his would appear under the Typhon Pact banner.
From what he said about them though I can't think of why they wouldn't be.

DRG was the panel at the "Future of the Typhon Pact" panel at Shore Leave. He announced that his two books are a two parter continuing the storyline of the Typhon Pact. He was unable to confirm or deny the appearance of any DS9 characters, but I kind of got the impression...
He did very kindly read us the first two pages of book one:techman:
On a side note. DRG hung out with a couple of us after the panel and chatted about his books and writing in general. He was very generous with his time and from the hints he let slip I very much look forward to his books.

Yesterday he answered a question about the books on his Facebook Page with much of the same information. One additional tidbit is that the working titles for the books at the moment are PLAGUES OF NIGHT and RAISE THE DAWN.

He's a able writer and his prose is good but I think his stories are largely garbage, so I'll give those a miss.

Oooh. Interesting! I'm always glad to see more post-Destiny stories, particularly those set on the "leading edge" of the timeline. So Cardassians might be involved, and the Gamma Quadrant might be involved, and DS9 characters might be involved? An Ascendant story? An Oralian story? Those might be good bets to fit the working titles. Or a follow up to the arrested Dominion arc? Let's excitedly speculate!

I'm quite surprised that these aren't DS9 novels, given how much backstory of the period from 2377 to 2381 was given in Rough Beasts of Empire. I guess it will be a while before we get a "proper" new DS9 novel. :(

^ Well, take heart. Although there aren't any DS9 novels on the horizon, a young Elias Vaughn will be in "Cast No Shadow" out at the end of the month and "Rise Like Lions" will undoubtedly feature many of the alternate universe DS9 characters.

Although I would've loved to see DRG filling the gap in DS9, I'm just excited he's doing more Trek. :D

Interesting scrolling through this old thread and remembering some of the folks that used to be quite active here a decade ago. Crazy that some of us have been hanging out here for like 15 years.
I joined the forum for the Doctor Who, but stayed for the Trek lit.

Fifteen years? Newbs
