News David Benioff and D.B. Weiss doing Star Wars

I don't know. It feels like they are playing it awfully safe with the choice of projects. A Han Solo Movie? A Movie that is basically a run up to Star Wars? Can't say that's really outside of the box.

Now, an Old Republic movie or something that doesn't involve an established on screen character, that would be a risk.
In my opinion, Solo is the the most riskiest project yet. One, it doesn't feature any cast members from the main films thus far, including RO. Two, it is recasting an iconic figure in a way that has already put people off.

It is more out of the box that is being credit for.

We will have to agree to disagree on that. I think it was the easiest thing for them to green light. A big “Of course!”

That doesn’t mean I think there were pitfalls. Nothing in art is a slam dunk. But of course they would do this instead of a Lando movie or an IG88 movie.

Well, depending on how Danny Glover is received...

By "risky" I don't mean "risky to greenlight." I mean that it is going to a different place than the last several Disney films. That's the risk.

If you listen to the internet, he’s been the most successful part since day one.

Yeah, but that risk, in my mind, is covered because it’s about Solo. More than half the marketing is done. You don’t have to explain who he is and why you should see the movie. It’s because it’s Han Solo.

Is there a landmind because your messing with an icon? Sure. But are you going to have a big opening weekend because of interest and curiosity? Yes. Your risk is covered.

Is there a landmind about doing a movie about Daryl Revan? Who? Are you going to have a big opening because of interest? Who the fuck is Daryl Revan? And why should I spend 12 bucks on him!?

Then you are right-we will agree to disagree.

It is a landmine and one that might merit the "flop" title.

That's a Lethal Weapon reference. Danny Glover played Roger Murtagh in the original Lethal Weapon movies.
The actor playing Lando in Solo is Donald Glover, who co-starred in Community, and is the star/creator of Atlanta.

Sorry, you seemed to have mixed up the two actors, so was just trying correct you.
