Data, Worf, Gorn,Vulcan, Vs Jem'Hadar soldiers

Nick086

Captain
Captain
The room is filled with 20 unarmed Jem'Hadar soliders ready to fight. Data, Worf, Gorn, and a Vulcan enter this room. They relise they are surrounded by the Jem'Hadar. Who is gonna to win this fight?

1.) The Vulcan kills the weakest Jem'Hadar.
2.) A Jem'Hadar kills the Vulcan.
3.) Worf single-handedly kills four Jem'Hadar.
4.) Worf is wounded.
5.) The Gorn kills the next two weakest Jem'Hadar.
6.) A Jem'Hadar kills the Gorn.
7.) Data kills another five Jem'Hadar.
8.) Five of the remaining Jem'Hadar team up to take on Data, fighting him to a stalemate.
9.) The other three Jem'Hadar team up to take on the wounded Worf. Worf manages to kill another Jem'Hadar, but finally succumbs to the other two after an hour of combat.
10.) Data faces the remaining seven Jem'Hadar alone.
11.) Data suffers multiple damages, but eventually kills another five Jem'Hadar.
12.) One of the final two Jem'Hadar accidentally hits Data's off-switch.
13.) Data is stripped down to his wires.
14.) DOMINION VICTORY! VICTORY IS LIFE.

I agree that the Jem'Hadar win the fight even though Data is a very strong opponent. The fight would probably be something like what Admiral Shran described (depending on the exact situation, they might think that it would be a better idea to try to leave the room though).

If the Jem'Hadar are unarmed, then is it actually possible to defeat Data? He strikes me as being immune to being struck at. The only thing I can think of is his off-switch.

Gorn is killed first. He's tough but slow. They'll aim for the eyes. Then again, TOS Gorn looked like he had crystaline eyes, so who knows?
The Vulcan is next. He's strong but not a fighting machine.
Worf after that..."merely Klingon", after all.
Data finally because he's fast, strong, and downloaded every fighting move from every culture ever on his second day at the Academy. No one knows about his off switch but he and that's the one spot they'll never get even near.

Did you say 20 Jem'Hadar? You'd think a race of genetically engineered fighting machines would be tougher than portrayed (why not defend the Dominion with robots instead unless the Jem'Hadar are just so awesome?) but no. Make it 200 Jem'Hadar and it'll go down as so.

I think you guys give Data too much credit as if he's the Terminator or something. He's strong alright, but he's not a killing machine, he'd just defend himself (the very least knock some of them unconscious), while the Jem'Hadar would be trying to destroy him without a second thought. Last I checked Data had two arms and two legs, which could be hold down as when other Jem'Hadar fellas destroy every circuit inside Data's body. Plus his off switch if awfully unprotected (which is pretty pathetic), anyone could press it even without realizing it anytime.

Two arms and two legs? So does the Terminator, James Bond, Bruce Lee, etc. All fictional characters that survived swarms of goons, but then such is the scenario presented above.

The off switch also did appear to be more difficult to activate than you suggest. It wasn't a matter of just brushing a feather somewhere on his lower back or tapping one of those black controls on the E-D - Riker seemed to pressing with force into the skin behind a "muscle" or something.

Plus, you could rip off whole limbs and chunks of torso off Data and he'd still eviscerate you if need be. I'm sure he'd rather hurt rather than kill the Jem'Hadar but so would any soldier yet they still kill for safety's sake. He wouldn't be saying pardon me and sorry and let himself or the mission fail because he'd have to kill Jem'Hadar.

I think Data could handle the brunt of the fight while Worf, The Gorn and the Vulcan get the left overs. I remember watching Star Trek Insurrection and First Contact Data was seen as untouchable in hand to hand combat. In one scene in Star Trek Insurrection Data punched a bunch of Sona officers off a cliff. Worf and Data were doing some fair fighting with the Borg in hand to hand combat in Star Trek First Contact. Not even a Human Starfleet Security Officer couldn't take one Borg down using his phaser rifle as a blunt object. If the Vulcans weren't defensive fighters their planet would of been conquered by the Andorians, Romulans, and Klingons.

With regards to Data's mortality, there has to be a limit, because in Descent, Data wanted to disable the safties so that there was a real element of danger. So yeah, on reflection, perhaps he's not all that immune to hand-to-hand combat.

if you ripped Data's head off and stomped on it once, he wouldnt be dead: you'd just have a hard time putting him back together. :D

Well the Gorn from Enterprise seemed like a very worthy adversary, much more so than the one Kirk took down in TOS. I would think that the Enterprise Gorn could easily take down 5 Jem'Hadar. Worf routinely did battle with the Jem'Hadar and always came out on top. I would say he also could take out 5. The vulcan is very strong and I think he could handle three. That leaves 7 for Data, no problem at all. I do not think a Jem'Hadar could throw a punch hard enough to even phase Data. A Klingon can head butt Data as hard as he can and Data will not even blink and his head will not move an inch. I mean bullets barely phased Data and they pack more of a punch than any Jem'Hadar could muster. I actually think Data could probably take on all 20 by himself. We know he as the capability to move at super speeds and is super strong. His off button is behind him but you have to know exactly where it is as you have to press in and then up. Simply pressing in will not do it (impression I always got was that the button was not facing out from his back, but was instead facing down and to get to it you had to know the spot to go in and THEN press up, very hard). My impression of Data based on a few examples and then by things that were hinted at but never shown on screen, is in fact that Data is MUCH more bad ass than we ever got to truly see.
