Data ordered the entire crew to bed for some much needed sleep, and had probably at least 15 hours and the entire ship to himself. He probably sat at ops the entire time except to feed Spot, but what would you do?

Let me rephrase that. What would you do if you were Data? No, what would you do if you didn't have to sleep as well?

I imagine I'd sweat my butt off doing all the things necessary to run the ship, that Data can do a bazillion times better. That's the interesting thing about Data. He might be the only person in Starfleet capable of running the whole ship (For a short length of time) by himself. I never got the impression anyone else could do that.

That exocomp episode made me realize that if Data had a few of those gizmos, they wouldn't even need a crew

If I was the only person awake on the entire ship, I can't imagine having so much as a minute to do anything else.

It depends on how you think about it. On 1 hand, they do seem to have a problem taking orders if they think they got a better idea lol

BUT Data did save them from being destroyed. Maybe they'd end up worshipping that dude
