Dark Star and Roger Corman films on DVD (some Blu-Ray)

I just found out that in a couple weeks a new special edition DVD of Dark Star is coming out! There was a DVD issue a couple years back but it came and went so fast I don't recall ever seeing it for sale. The new edition is called the Hyper-Drive Edition and comes out in Region 1 on Oct. 26:

Good news is the DVD has both versions of the film. No Blu-Ray, though - but if you know the original film I can't really see how they could improve THAT picture to high-def!

Apparently some Roger Corman films are coming out again on DVD as well. I just picked up Star Crash, though apparently that one's on Blu-Ray too. Its claim of fame of course was Caroline Munro, plus one of David Hasselhoff's first major film roles. Fun times! I don't have a complete list of the "Roger Corman Cult Classics" series, but if you check Amazon it looks like there's a pile of them coming out this month and next.

Oh great, now I have the Dark Star theme song, "Benson, Arizona" going through my head...

Glad to hear of this re-issue of Dark Star! I have the edition that came out a few years back, but will pick this up for the new behind the scenes stuff. Especially glad to see they got an interview with Dan O'Bannon before he passed.
